I miss the old 11 inch gaming laptop models. What current or past models are the spiritual successors to the old 11 inch (e.g NP6110/W110er) machines in the past two years or so?

I haven't really seen any 11 models like that recently from any company. Usually 13 inch is about the smallest you'll find with a dGPU in it, and Clevo doesn't offer any of those right now. 14 inch is the smallest gaming laptop they offer (p640)

I suspect they'll never offer 11" models again.

One thing to consider, is previously screens almost always had large bezels. This contributed to the overall footprint of the device.
Nowadays, not so much. For example, something like an XPS 13, due to skinny bezels, would be roughly the same size as the old W110ER in footprint. Similarly, machines like the XPS15 really compete in the 14" space due to lack of bezels adding to overall size.

Laptops generally getting skinnier and lighter also contributes a lot more to portability I'd say.

I fully expect 14" to be the smallest Clevo will go with gaming/dGPU models. Smaller usually involves dropping to a ULV to maintain reasonable battery life and Clevo don't seem to be the ones to go for a ULV+dGPU setup. The P640 already suffers from the 6700HQ and small battery compared to other models. I'd have to see what happens to battery capacity if you tried that in a smaller chassis.

    I don't think the 6700HQ is compromise for the 970M, that's a good match.
