let me start off by saying that i'm totally anal when it comes to specks and spots, of any kind, on my laptop screen. right now, there's a line of dead pixels going across my screen horizontally. i'm pretty PO'd about it...
i was using my NP8850 earlier and everything was fine and dandy. i got up to take a small break and let the dogs out for a bit. when i got back, i was rudely greeted by a big ugly line of dead pixels on the lower portion of my screen!!!![]()

is there anyway to fix this problem? i've never actually had a pixel problem before, so i'm not quite sure where to start. my NP8850 does come with the 2yr warranty. should i just call xoticpc? any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated!

you can press the plastic border adjacent to the screen where the dead pixels are, it probably goes away a while.

Are they dead or stuck? (Dead = black, stuck = any other color). If they're stuck, you can try the link below:
5 Ways To Fix A Stuck Pixel On Your Screen
Otherwise, since you're still in warranty I'd call your reseller. If it's a screen/display cable issue, they can get that sorted out without you having to open the machine up. -
just use the guide. i had migrating dead pixels on my phone last week, and they went away after using one of those programs that switches the colors for a few hours.

Looks Vietnamese to me.
Regarding the line of pixels, that could indicate a panel fault. I had an LCD once that looked fine for the first week and then suddenly lines went across it and the manufacturer screwed me by not honoring warranty. -
Looks like Hotgamernese to me, ahem. I must have your DNA, we need to upgrade the gene pool of the human race with moar gamer femmes. What was that about deadly pixels or some such?
I forgot what we were talking about.

Well this topic got creepy.

i tried a few of those programs that just made your screen flash random colors. did it for a few hours and the pixels are still there. =\
looks like i'll have to RMA it when i can find some time. -

Hi houstoned, can you get a screen shot, or is the line too thin.
The only thing I have experienced that was similar to this was when I started to get thin stuck vertical lines on my laptop screen. It turned out to be a fault with one of the LCD data tabs that run along the top and sides of the LCD. I had to replace the screen to fix it.
Best thing is to check if it is a faulty LCD or something else. Plug your laptop into an external monitor like a TV. If the stuck pixel line is no longer visible on the external, it means you have a faulty LCD. If it is still there it may something else like the LCD cable or LCD inverter (though I think that is unlikely for this problem). -

BTW if he took a screen shot, the line wouldn't be there. -
i love my laptop...do u know how sucky it would be without it for 2 weeks? -

LET'S GO TEXANS!!!

I doubt it would take more than a week for a simple screen swap. Plus Sager pays for 2-day shipping both ways.

I never thought I was going to hear some like this , here is my experience one month ago I purchase my M18X and I have a dead pixel on the screen well I call and they build a replacement machine it took 5 days to arrive to my shop and the screen was perfect but few days ago I was playing crysis 2 and I saw a line of stuck pixels on the bottom of the screen like 7
half inch from the edge this is the first time some like that happens to me but today they replaced the screen and everything looks good again

See topic -> http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/583708-clevo-p170hmx-problems-alot.html
- Intel i7 Q2720 (got replaced within a day)
- 2x 4 GB ram modules (got replaced within a day)
- Mainboard (got replaced within a week)
- LCD Screen (got replaced within a week)
- LCD Cable (got replaced within a week)
- Geforce GTX 485m (got replaced within a week)
The only thing that did not get replaced in this laptop is the blu-ray drive and my hard disk drive.
The first 2 part are repaired in Belgium (where i bought my laptop) but he tested the laptop for 2-3 weeks to see if the problems where gone (which where not).
The last 4 parts are repaired in Germany (somewhere by München) so shipping took longer than the actual repairs. -
Houstoned...you from Houston I'm assuming?
