I've been browsing about for some replacement parts to fix up my P151EM since it's running 4 years old now and kind of sagging. I came across a P150 motherboard being sold on various sites like ebay during my browsing.
Now I've read many posts about successively using parts from the P150 for the P151, as both are mostly similar to each other, but I couldn't find anyone who swapped out the motherboards.
So then comes my question: Would a motherboard swap be possible for a P151 laptop case? I'm not entirely sure if the P151 case would have the same mountings as the P150 (the service manual I obtained both physically and digitally online are for both the P150/P151).
My only worry is regarding the CPU. I can't find where, but I read a while back that the CPU is actually soldered into the motherboard of the P151 and thus can't be removed.
I would be really interested in a motherboard swap as it would allow me to get that ever-so-beautiful backlit keyboard that I've wanted and I could pick up a 180w adapter and begin looking for more powerful graphics cards.
Swapping P151EM Motherboard for a P150EM?
