I am seriously considering canceling my order (still in pre production) for a Gigabyte Aorus 17X with HID and getting their EVOC X170 instead because of the option to get a delidded CPU and having liquid metal applied on it. Would that alone be worth the 5% cancellation fee?
And if so, which display option (FHD 144, FHD 240 and UHD 60) would you recommend if the usage would be: gaming 40%, gaming and streaming 30%, video editing 20% and word processing 10% of time spent?

If you have changed your mind it might be worth speaking to them, they may let you change your model if sticking with them. The mobile chips don't come with any heat spreader so they are direct die, it's more about the cooling of the systems and the x170 simply has the capacity to cool more heat and run at faster speeds.

Could you give some input regarding which monitor to go with? Are the monitors of near-identical quality in terms of color accuracy, sRGB, etc.?Last edited: Aug 4, 2020 -

It's down to personal preference somewhat on colour accuracy vs refresh rate vs resolution and how important each of your tasks for you.
For gaming 1080p 144Hz is pretty sweet, for content creation the 4k has the edge. -
144Hz is nice for 1080p gaming, 240hz if great if you can push 240+ frames, so 2080S might be the right one to pair it with.

Though it's not worth investing much over 144Hz unless you really are a professional FPS player.

The two generally go hand in hand.
Sweet spot for display, and delidded CPU + LM?
