I failed to resist not upgrading to Windows 10. Naturally, I now regret it and loathe Microsoft, Intel and AMD.Suffice to say I've been hurling profanities at them all day.

So I have a Sager 8275/P170SM laptop. And you guys that have similar Sager laptops know that when you are using the dGpu a light switches on and off if using the iGpu.

After the Windows 10 upgrade the system crashed on set up. So I uninstalled and cleaned previous drivers. Updated the Intel drivers and got the 15.7.1 driver.

Now, this is what I don't understand and I'm not sure if it is an issue. Everything looks great apart from:
    1. When I right click on the CCC icon in "Show hidden icons" menu, I can see "Configure Switchable Graphics" but unlike the previous versions I can't see whether it is using AMD or Intel.
    2. The GPU light aforementioned is blinking. But remains constantly on if I have either Intel or AMD driver installed. Both installed and it just keeps blinking. I haven't tried to see what happens when I go in game.
I found out that the Intel drivers are 32 bit versions and there is no 64 bit as of yet and maybe that's why.

I would like to know if this is an issue. And for you guys with 7970M or 8970M and 64bit OS is your gpu light blinking?
    Thanks

    EDIT

I can definitely confirm now that the Intel GPU is the one in use in game play.

Hi, thanks for replying. Not sure what Zero Core is will have to read up on it. So if everything is working fine but that I assume your gpu lights are stable?

This is a link to what I'm talking about - the white circullar light is blinking for me with both Intel and AMD drivers installed:

my one is p170EM, which is older than yours and has no such indicator light. but it switches to 7970m when needed as normal in windows 10. zero core is the 7970m will switch to standby mode when not in use. at this state it consumes so little power that the cooling fan does not need to spin to cool it down.

    OK I see. Gotcha.
Well I rolled back, did a clean install of Win 8.1. Just got irritated by the constant blinking.
Using the 15.7.1 driver still has the missing switchable AMD or Intel GPU menu item. But at least it has stopped blinking.

I remember seeing the option in Update & Security. But after the roll back it just didn't feel the same as before. So I ended up doing a clean install on the system drive.
It was fairly easy as my C: drive is pretty lean, but mildly annoying. Which I recommend (back up first).

It's funny I knew this would happen. I vowed to wait a year before upgrading so I guess I deserve it. It's a shame because I really want Windows 10. Hopefully the RTM is way better and resolves the issues especially for mobile systems - for some reason a lot of vendors tend to ignore or put last.

Hey guys, it has been 3 months now. Did you guys try Windows 10 on switchables? Have the bugs been ironed out?
What's you experience like? I want to know so I can try a second/third re-install.
