Hi,
To fellow Sager owners : did you notice that it is not possible to check the "automatically disable the touchpad if an external mouse device is plugged in" option that used to be there, at least in other laptops ?
I tried to install the latest drivers from synaptics web site and it did work. However, I still cannot find that option. The synaptics icon is there and all works well, but there are no such option in the device properties dialog (I can only enable or disable it). It means I have to manually disable the touch pad when I plug my wireless or bluetooth mouse.
I just want to make sure it is a limitation or I missed something.
Thank you !

You are correct the latest driver does not have thie option, I know chastity posted a registry workaround to get it showing again but have not found it yet. It is in one of the ASUS forums
15.2.11.1 does have the option you are looking for . -

Tried both registry changes and none worked after reboot on Sager with latest synaptics drivers (did not try with the drivers on Sager site or older ones however). -
Ruf are you on 15.2.7 ? ... wow they update often. Also thanks for the link that is a fix for some of the older versions. Nice work finding that I looked for about 1 hour w/out success. +1 REP

Ruf, does your registry look like the snap shot I took of mine? I have the latest driver installed 15.2.7 at this point. I can not image a sager would be dfifferent from an asus. I do have the check box you are looking for.

Yes Josea - The registry is exactly the same in fact !
However, even if the option is checked, the touchpad is always active nevertheless and at all times (if on or off).
But I just discovered that the problem seems to be my mouse driver : e.g. one mouse is not recognized properly and it does not disable the touchpad (probably because it is a bluetooth mouse rather than USB one) but I tried but another mouse and it successfully disabled the touch pad.
Thanks -
Here's the one I use and works great.

Does anyone know WHY Synaptics removed this feature? Is it locked to manufacturers who licensed that ability? Because I know it is a stock feature on Dells.

I don't know why either. It is a simple registry edit. Just add a checkbox, and done.

I know I may have just revived this thread, but thank you so much for those registries! I had to update my bios, and when I did, it rendered some of my drivers useless, along with synaptics.
