I have a NP8662 and I was just wondering how do i wipe the computer so that it only has the programs that it came with when i first got it? Also, will it also still have those free trials like the microsoft office? Thanks

Im pretty sure the sager doesn't come with trial software, at least xoticpc doesn't install any bloatware.

To clean your system, you would reinstall your OS and format the hard drive. By doing this option you erase everything and your computer will be at its peak performance because there is nothing installed.

The second option would be to do a system restore. Im pretty sure your vendor gave you CDs, they should have the OS,drivers, and maybe a software CD. Check to see if have a recovery partition. If your laptop came pre-installed with an OS, I think it should have a recovery partition in which case you would just need to boot your computer using F11 or F10.

I personally bought my sager without an OS so I have no recovery partition or any software, only a driver cd.

Just uninstall the microsoft trial stuff then run a defrag/system cleanup and if you really want to a registry cleaner like ccleaner.. no need for a reformat on a brand new sager waste of time and potentially may mess something up.

aint broke dont fix and if its a 8662 brand new its not broken.

lol, just re-read your question and you can't clean your system unless doing my first option. The recovery option will reset your computer back to the manufactures state, which is the state your computer is in now, with all the bloatware. Just uninstall all the bloatware by using a special uninstall program.

I use a program called "your uninstaller 2008" because it not only removes the programs, but scans your registry and program files for any leftovers.

PC Decrapifier is a good program !

    http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/

While the only bloatware that came on my Sager was Microsoft Office, it won't uninstall through the add/remove programs route.

And to manually uninstall it, you must read through this Microsoft novel 1st !

I just left it on there !
