In 16 hours UPS will arrive with my brand new Malibal Satori P170EM.

I have a few things already figured out that I am going to do as soon as i get it.

    - Install 128 Gb SSD moving 500 GB to the Hard Drive Caddy.
-Make sure RAM is seated properly (Have seen a lot of threads of people RMA'ing their laptops because of problems caused by loose RAM.
-I will do the foil mod on my fans/heatsinks
    -Install windows 7 and drivers
    -monitor heat with msi kombustor

Is there anything else that I should be checking?

You really don't need to do the foil mod with your 680m... that card runs cool enough as it is. Maybe repaste it if you are getting high than average temps. Just test for issues first before going and modifying your components.

You also dont need to move the HDD to the other hard drive bay, both are SATA III speeds. Install the SSD in the open hard drive bay (under the optical drive) and change the BIOS to use that as the first hard drive.

Well I figure it won't hurt to do it, it'll take all of 5 minutes to do and its cheap. I have ordered Gelid GC online and I'm waiting for that so I'm hoping Malibal has pasted my laptop properly and with IC diamond 7 instead of stock, but I'm not too worried about it.

I really don't mean to question you but I definitely remember reading several times on this forum that bay 0 and 1 are SATA III and the optical bay was only SATA II.

That's exactly what he said...no need to move it to bay 1, assuming it's installed in bay 0. Just install the SSD in whichever bay isn't occupied and change the BIOS startup sequence.

Ah sorry didnt realize you were getting 2x 500GB drives, then yes you will want to move one of those to the ODD bay and use a HDD caddy for it.

I'm confused. You said it was shipped on August 1st and would be sent overnight. What took so long?

It did but I wasn't expecting overnight shipping so I went on a trip to the city and was halfway there when Malibal told me that it shipped and would be arriving the next day. So on the 2nd when ups tried delivering it no one was there so they would try again the next day. I had a friend waiting there to sign for the laptop but she couldn't get the package because she couldn't pay the taxes. That was on Friday so now the weekend has past plus Monday was a holiday so the laptop will be arriving today.
