When the T7800 is released on September 2nd, will this be an option for the 5790? I'm not sure if the T7900 will be out with it but essentially the same question.

Finally if theres a price drop for the T7700s when these come out, how soon do laptop manufacturers usually have to wait for that to take effect?

Thank you very much for your time.

I was thinking the same thing as I'm ordering a laptop around this time and was wondering if I should wait :p but can't wait too much off to uni soon.

it is my understanding that the t7800 is not for the santa rosa chipset (even) so it would not be available in the 5790 ... the t7900 would fit in the 5790 but who knows when it will be offered

According to Intel, T7800 is Santa Rosa compatible. All Core 2 Duos are.

What about the x7800 and x7900, I was reading on here Killernotebooks.com supported those (with some heat sink mod they claim to have), but from what I have read, the x7900 isn't even out, and the site does not say it is a preorder. I hear if you overclock them they get hot, which is why Sager does not support it, but aside from that, is there any reason we cannot use the X7800 or X7900 in the 5790, especially if we do not plan to overclock? I would LOVE the quad core offered by those if it were possible.

Eurocom also offers the Clevo 570RU with the x7800. It's compatible, and so's the x7900. But they do run quite hot.

even if Eurocom offered these processors, Sager wont back them up with a warrenty...so you are left with Eurocom's warrenty...

Why would you expect Sager to honor Eurocom's warranty?

i am assuming it is the same as my warranty with xoticpc..1st year is through sager, 2nd and 3rd year is through xoticpc

is this not the way it works with all vendors?

Eurocom is NOT a Sager reseller. Both companies are Clevo rebranders but are independent of each other and hence would not be expected to honor the other's warranties.

    Xoticpc IS a Sager reseller.
