Ok guys,I know there's been a lot of threads regarding these processors, but I would like to point out some important things and hear what you think.

    T9900 2 cores 45nm 35W 3.06GHz 6MB L2 cache Goes into NP5797
    i7-950 4 cores 45nm 130W 3.06GHz 8MB L2 cache Goes into NP9280

I'd like to buy NP5797 with T9900,but as I can see it's becoming old.
130W worries me,that's 95W more than T9900,battery is probably useless, but the amount of heat generated should be through the roof, can NP9280 take it?
    I don't understand why 8MB L2 cache,why not 12?
Are there any new processors coming soon that will replace these ones?
Currently money is of no concern,we're just talking what's good.
    What do you think?
    Thanks :)

The 9280 has a very good cooling system. The cooling system was built from the 9262 which had a great cooling system. You can search here on NBR and find some reviews of the 9280 and many on the 9262. Due to only a few 9280's that have been sold thus far, you wont find as many as the 9262. The 9280 can handle the i7 without a problem.

The processors were just refreshed in the last week. The new Intel platform, from what I know at this time, will not be available until 4th quarter.

All laptops(well pretty much everything) start to go obsolete as soon as they hit the market But, the 5797 is a great laptop, with some time in front of it. It's a great buy.

Heat should not be an issue..NP9280(like Justin said)has the same chasis as the NP9262 did and, it had no trouble at all...

I read on some other board that the battery life will last on low performance settings for 1 hour and 4 minutes, The guy was watching movies not gaming....

About the cache i can't help you there.

***EDIT***Sorry i forgot to tell you which processor i would pick: If you go with the 5797 i would take the quad core QX9300...I actually had this ordered then i seen the NP9280 and went with that instead.

If you go with the 9280: you have no choice got to be i7. Now which one is up to you and your needs
