After installing THX, I immediately noticed that most of my Windows noise are now very choppy/laggy on my 150EM, like the sound of USB being plugged in.
I use Pidgin as my instant messenger, and I also noticed that the send/receive sound is now very choppy also.
Music still plays fine, but its all those misc sounds have become choppy.

Problem is solved if I uninstall THX, but then I lose sound quality. Without THX, I can't even hear myself swinging my sword in Kingdoms of Amalur.

I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this as I did not see any other threads on this...

    Any ideas?

Question is, why are you using the Clevo speakers with THX rather than real speakers or quality headphones?

Because I don't lug speakers around with me everywhere I go.
And it is not practical to use headphones to surf the web.

EDIT: Actually this issue persists even if I plug in headphones/speakers

In ear monitors are small enough you can stuff them in your wallet and will still sound better than laptop speaker. I really don't see any excuse for ever wanting to use laptops speakers personally.

Some flawed logic here. The man didn't pay $1700 for a laptop that would have dysfunctional sound. If the speakers don't work, then that laptop goes back for a new one, but in this case, it is likely a problem with Windows.

I was able to fix the issue.

I opened sound properties (in windows) and in the Enhancements tab, I checked the "Disable all sound effects" box, even though no effects were enabled in the section below.
I'm guessing THX does not work well with that setting.

Check this out. It might help you locate what is causing your issues. It helped me with my ASUS laptop a few years ago.
