I keep hearing how the GTS is cheaper AND only a few fps (under 5) slower than the GT. yet I thought I saw a review(and I can't seem to find it now) that people got around 10k in 3dmark06 with the GT but only around 9.2k with the GTS. While that's NOT true gaming, that does seem very big of a difference.
I'm pretty sure I want a Clevo (since AW is using older chipsets) and I can't find a Sager wih the 9800GT card anymore. But if I get enough people with GTS with scores close to GT, then I may just lower my exspectations and get the GTS.
Just curious as to what you guys/gals get. Can you list a 3dmark06 and Vantage if you got 'em with what CPU/HD/GPU/RAM/OS you have?
Example:
Livesoft- P9500/320GB 7200RPM Seagate Momentus SATA II/9800GT/4GB/Vista64(,wish he tested it with 32bit) 3dmark06:9.2k

800 points is not a big difference
-
That's what I'm trying to find out. If the difference is really as minor as Nvidia wants you to believe. But, depending where the 800pts came from, it could be a difference in a game. Lets say youre hitting the lower part of 20-25fps. Now it hits 30-33fps. Which could help out alot.

I think 5 frames is a lot that's like 16% if your talking about 30frames. But what about heat? Is the GT hotter or GTS?
-
well to be honest there isnt too much of a difference from what i have read max 1-2 % usually because gt have more shraders(hope i spelled it right) anways yea people would prefer gt over gts but gts still only 1-2% behind so ii wouldnt be so obsessed over it if u can find it go for it otherwise gts is still one of the top video cards out there

That's just 1 or 2 frames... That wouldn't even be noticeable.

hmm...IF that chart is right, then there isn't that much of a difference. So I guess it would come down to power savings and heat issues.

I have a GTS and I'm so far more than happy with it, still didn't do any serious gaming on it but whatever I throw at it plays super. You might want to check manually this "forgotten" survey in which mrdj put a lot of time to find your answer:

TU-9800gt or gts? PLease post your benchmarks
