    Hello,

I think it might be time to take apart and clean the heat sinks/fans of my Sager 5793. My question is, how exactly do I take it apart? I see there is a bottom plate with quite a number of screws. Do they all come out? And what about that sliding latch on the underside?

I know this info might be already posted somewhere. If it is, please direct me to it.

    Thank you!

That is correct, take out all the screws on the bottom cover and then remove it. You will see the heatsinks when you open it up. From there you can use Gophns guide on cleaning it out. Just be careful. :)

the key is, dont be afraid.. the fans can smell fear!

how long has it been anyway since u cleaned it?. every 3 months is my general cleaning. If any1 wants 901c pics ill be glad to do that computer. Im not sure about the 570 but on the 901 you have to just unscrew the fans after the latch is open and the heatsink is completely exposed. One or two good qtips grab the whole mat of dust in one shot. Then blow the rest out the way it came in.

    Hahaha :D

It's been a few months. My temps are still pretty cool but they are a little higher than before and I can see the intake fans took in some dust.
