So I have a 5796 that is a couple of months old, and I want a quad core cpu... Whats the best way for me to do this..
I like the x9100 that a few people have, and i watch for them on Ebay, as I just have not found anywhere else that sells the chip, but all the listing seem a little sketchy to me. Do you guys that have the chip have a supplier that you trust that will sell the chip?
I see some ebay ones are ES (engineering sample) and not knowing to much about the different stages of development, I would prefer to have an oem one..If that makes sense..
I know the 5797 now supports quads, but I have not heard of an upgrade being put in place for those of us with the 5796...I would most likely be ok with paying some money to upgrade the motherboard in my laptop to have access to the other chips, maybe like a package deal? I do not want to have to worry about over heating issues or compatibility problems..Or voiding my 3 year warranty.
So its Friday, and most of you are just watching the clock till you get to go home for the weekendLet me know what you think the best way(s) would be.. I think i might contact Xoticpc if Justin doesn't see this thread anyways and see what they think would be the best way to go about it. I need to see about the new power cords anyways because both of the ac adapters i have fall out of the back of the laptop very easily.
Thanks everyone
