Getting my NP9150 tomorrow will run benchmarks to check temps and what not as soon as I do. Around what tempers stock/load should I be looking at?
I am planning on repasting with ICD7 and also doing the tape foil mod. I remember seeing something else regarding a washer to enable more contact with the heatsink and cpu or gpu but cannot find it. Can anybody elaborate on this?

what CPU and GPU do you have? i use the washer fix myself and my 675m stock temp is high 70s when playing BF 3 -
The only thing I have ever done is the foil fix, and I stay around the high 70's in BF3. Without it, I am in the low 80's.

oh yeah and i also put some electrical tape over the heat sink connections so air doesnt leak. i dont have foil tape

I got the 7970m. Thanks for the link kind of a dummy here but I do not follow those diagrams. Where does the washer go? in between the screen of the heatsink and the where it screws into?
And also kind of confused on how to test which corner needs more pressure -
why do anything before you check your temps and run benchmarks.
because a few might have lose screws or washers doesnt mean every single computer around the world does.
post your results and then we can tell you if they are fine or not. also what part of the world are you from and whats the ambient temperature. can make upto 10c difference -
when you open up the hood of your laptop, you see the GPU and you see 4 screws holding down the heatsink right? unscrew those and take off the heat sink from the GPU, and you will see the diagram becomes easier to follow

I'm not sure the pressure problem is much of a problem on the laptops anymore. You may not see any benefit from doing it. I personally saw no gain at all from it.

getting it today.. waiting on the big brown truck to make its daily delivery to my work.
will run benchmarks and will update!
Thanks for the responses guys =) -
I think an important info is average temps or "normal" temps for CPU and GPU.
Gaming for hours (borderlands2 mostly) i get:
60 to 65 CPU MAX temp (my normal MAX is 60 to 62, but i have seen up to 65 sometimes)
70 to 75 GPU MAX temp (72 most of the time)
(23 C room temp approx.)
In crysis 2 or with more room temp i recall reading 83 C MAX for the GPU.
to me these values seem normal, they are without maxing the fans. I did realize that raising the back of the notebook a few inches (1 or 2 cms) can lower average temps for about 5 to 10 degrees Celsius, wich i find its a lot, so i play with my notebook closed in my 50' plasma, raised 1 cm or so, and temps dont go higher than stated.
is that normal for IC diamond goo upgrade? (reseller made....) -
Ok received my np9150, setup windows and installed all drivers.
Downloaded MSI Kombuster and HWMonitor.
In HWMonitor it doesn't list the 7970m it only has the Intel HD Graphics 4000.
What settings do I use for MSI Kombuster, it lists AMD Wimbledon XT as GPU#1 which is the 7970m. When I try and run something it lists in the Renderer the Intel HD 4000. Help!!!
