Hey all, it's been a while since I last posted here.

I purchased a Sager NP8150 from Xotic PC back in early spring last year.

I've noticed recently that I've been getting poor temps under full load.

Below is an example of temps while using Dolphin (a GameCube emulator).

It was getting to be so bad that I had to turn off dual-core support.

My GPU (a GTX 485M) hit 90 degrees Celsius while playing Diablo III on maximum settings.

I think something's wrong with either the hardware or the thermal paste.

Have you blown the dust out of your heatsinks and vents at all?

90C is still a decent temp for a GPU.

What are your temps normally at and do you use a laptop cooler underneath it at all?

    Glad you mentioned that.

I had lent this laptop to my dad a couple months back.

I just decided to flip it over and saw the back caked with dust.

I use compressed air to get it out and temps should be okay from here on.

post an updated CPUID shot. Always interesting to see the effect that dust has on the temps of systems :)

Sure thing. This is during light browsing. I'm considering taking off the back plate to clean more thoroughly, but we'll see.

I feel silly for not thinking of this before...

Does your dad run a wood shop or does he live in the black rock desert?

    Just curious. :p
