    I have a Clevo 150EM with a 7970.

The GPU under load (Civ 5, so i guess not very demanding), is after 3 hours 74 degrees C.
The CPU reaches a maximum of 89 degrees C during the same time.
The cooling paste is the normal stock, thinking about changing it.

So are these temps around normal?

I was thinking about trying to overclook my GPU later, so I guess i will need to change the cooling paste. But does a laptop cooler help? Does anybody use them?

    Thank you :)

HWinfo64 also shows that the fan speed is never over 35%, is this a bug in the program ?

The temps are fine and prove the fan is faster than 35%.

I enabled vsync to lower the temps.

That will work if your fps is above 60 but does introduce input lag.

Good thing about the temps, i might to repaste anyway to help with OC.

Vsync produce lag in some of the games (Under utilization of the GPU), which is why I have it off :)

How about Laptop cooler pads? Does anybody use them? Like Cooler Master's ?

    Thank you.

Pads only work if you mod the cover and use extra copper ramsinks. Otherwise just raise the back with bottle caps or anything really and that will get you all the benefit of a pad.

Already have a pad that raises the laptop so I guess I will drop the cooling pad.

But have anybody heard anything similar to my fanspeed problem ?

What fanspeed problem? As far as you said the program never changes its reading, you can hear the fan speed up and down, the temperatures are fine and therefore the program just can't detect the fan speed.

Your CPU temp could stand to be lower; it's approaching an undesirable peak. But it doesn't seem as though anything is faulty.
