I actually have done a search so sorry cause I know this has been written about a lot here but.....

What are the idle, under load such as a game and max temps of the hardware?

I just installed CPUID and had all 3 hard drive in the note book. It said the 3rd 1 I had installe was too hot and I cant rember what the temp was. Thought I took a screen shot but I didnt. If I remember the Temp was like 150F I could be wrong. Also the 2 HD I have in Raid 0 dont show temperatures why?

I have 2 200Gb Momentus 7200.2 HD's installed Raid 0 normally 1 under the battery and 1 in the middle HD tray. I wanted to try Windows 7 so I installed a older Momentus 100Gb 7200.1 in the spare slot for the HD bay. I noticed that the Windows 7 was acting laggy so I switched to XP and it to wasn't right so I downloaded CPUID.

    My temps are as follows
    THMO Min (41C)(105F) MAX(53C)(127F)
    Core #0 42 56
    1 42 52
    2 35 51
    3 45 58

    GPU 9800GT 1
    57 69
    GPU 9800GT 2
    50 64

This is with the Fn 1 full speed fans
the minimum represents the computer at idle and the max represents while playing Call of duty 4.

    LMK if those are ok.

Also I removed the third hard drive and and went back to the 2 in Raid 0. I felt with all three drive that the 2 in the middle were getting cooked. Is there a way to prevent them from getting to hot or is that normal?

    TIA

berry...only worry about temps when they get above 80 to 85 degrees... allot of temp stuff is based on your room temp.

as shyster1 said...they are perfectly fine.

    radio?
oh raid..because it wont read raid temps...probably because it's not a real raid card im thinking (like in a desktop computer)

out of raid it reads temps fine though.

Your GPU idle temps don't look quite right-particularly Gpu 1. I say this because you stated that you have your fan running at high speed (Fn+1). My single 9800GT idles at 41C with the fan running at low-medium speed and even lower than that with the fan running at max speed. Although none ot the GPU temps you posted are anywhere near the danger point, they do seem to be somewhat higher than they should be.

do you have a sli rig? i see you say one gpu, but didn't see that it was in sli mode running a constant x16 @ room temp being about 75 to 80 degrees...things like this account for gpu temps being a bit higher than others.

i can et both of mine below 40c's but then the room temp would have to be in the 60's for that to stay a constant... :)

A bit higher is right 10-15C higher. I'm glad I chose not to go with a dual 9800's.
By the way my room temp is in the low 70's and I never use the fan on high speed.

that's why it's lower in temps. sli is always higher. it wont drop unless you go on battery power or disable one card.

but i am curious though..while running single card, does yours drop from x16 to x1?? i haven't been able to get mine to do that. it stays locked at x16.

just a quick question.. has anyone experienced a continuous beeping sound for brief period.. then stops then continues again..while the laptop screen is off..(the lappy is still running)

could it be over temperature notification.??

hmm further to this.. it behaves like the battery low alarm except that my laptop is plugged in.

and it also happens at around 7 am around the dot for the last 2 days now..? have i set some alarm somewhere accidentally.??

what is your bios and kbc bios versions?

i think gophn & theriko said it has to do with one or both of them.

Yes I have a SLi rig see sig. The room temp is mid to high 60s actually.

if you look at gpuz it will show your bus interface at either x16 or x1. being pci-e lane speed for gpu's

I had to download GPUZ to answer this but it says for Bus Interface:
    PCI-E x16 @ x16 so the answer is it stays at x16.

By the way, I only have one card. I imagine that even if the second card is not used that it is still getting clocked and generates some heat which could raise the internal laptop ambient temperature somewhat.

hummm, that's weird. i have been trying to figure out how to drop that pci-e down to x1 for the longest. on my hp and my gateways, they all dropped to x1 when i was not doing any heavy graphic work, but my d901c won't. that saves on voltage/heat & battery.

i found a pic of my temps

    @johnksss:

There's an older thread in the hardware upgrades forum here that discusses successfully configuring an _HP sytem so the PCI-Express bus either stays @x16, or is allowed to drop to @x1 - perhaps there might be something useful on that thread?

what? what? what? how you get a x6??

try running windows wei and see if it jumps up to x16.
i say wei, because it doesn't go full screen and allows you to see what's going on.
you'll have to close cpu z once wei starts then reopen to see if it changed.

    GPUZ the multiplier is x16.

What is the CPU multiplier. Mine is x6 at idle and x8.5 under load.

Also the core speed jumps from 1995.2 to 2826.8 mhz. I assume that is the speed of the cpu idle its a 2ghz and under load its a 2.8ghz??
