The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. I just want to comment and say here that NBR is one of the best forums I have ran across on the net when it comes to one buying a NB. The individuals on this forum are very informative when it comes to the ever changing mobile hardware world. I for one have been reading these forums for a few months now and with the research, discussions, and yes even bickering :p that have been posted I have FINALLY, after hours of pulling my hair out of my roots  , decided to order the Sager 5791. Until about 2 weeks ago I haven’t even heard of Sager and was dead set on getting the Asus G2S-B1, but running through the threads and happening upon the Sager threads, there is no doubt in my mind that this is the way to go when it comes to a performance NB. Also all the kudos from you guys who have purchased from XoticPC, that’s where I will be making my purchase from. Also I love the idea of customizing my lappy to my needs and not being tied down to some proprietary **insert brand name here** loaded with bloatware, and increasing my chances of NOT being able to upgrade my components down the road. By all means, Im not saying that the “other guys” are not good alternatives, it’s all based on your personal needs and what you really want. The G2S-B1 is a great laptop, but for what I want to do it can not grant me. I’m glad to finally take that FINAL step and order. FINNNNAALLLY!!!! :) After lots of reading and research the Sager 5791 is the one for me. Just wanted to thank you all for your contribution to a great community and keep up the hard work. I’ll defiantly be a frequent poster from now on and will have my benchmarks posted as soon as I order my lappy sometime around the 1st of Nov. See ya on the forums =)
One Note: Ya guys drove me nuts on the debate about the 8700gt and the 7950gtx!!! Went with the 7950 and HOPEFULLY will be able to upgrade to the 88XX this winter ;)

My New Laptops Specs: Sager 5791
    - 17” WUXGA Super Glossy (1900x1200)
    - T7700 C2D
    - 7950GTX
    - 1GB Robson TM
    - 200GB HDD 7200rmp
    - 4GB DRR2 677
    - Still debating between Vista Premium and Ultimate (if ya guys have any input which one ya would use please holler)

Glad to hear NBR doing it's fine work to the community at large!

Congrats on the laptop purchase, too, those Sagers are beasts of a computer, and best of all, are portable. ;)

I too must say thanks. Before I stumbled on NBR I was about to go with Dell or Alienware. I've learned a fair amount since then and hope to continue to do so. :notworthy:

NBR is a great website! Before I stumbled onto this website while looking at notebooks and doing research I never even knew about Sager laptops. Thanks to this website, when I buy a laptop I know what I'm getting into because of everybody's comments and opinions on all the laptops there are out there.
