This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Thanks to Notebook Review and all the members who contribute! The forum has been a great resource for us. The resellers list was our guide as we price shopped.

    We finally purchased a Clevo M570RU-U from RK Computers.

    We went with one of the older models with the nVidia 8700m GT 512 Mb video cards to save a little money. Ordered a 2.4 GHz T8300 processor and will pair that with 4 Gb of RAM dual booting XP for games and Ubuntu for general use. Went with a WD Scorpio 7200 RPM, 320 Gb SATA 3.0 Gb/sec hard drive. RAM, 667 Mhz, from Komusa, and HD from Newegg to save a little money.

    RK was good to deal with. Convenient hours. Good customer service. Prompt delivery. Would definitely do business with them again.
