    Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy a Vortex III (Clevo P150EM) from PCspecialist and have some questions about the hard drive. I've posted a thread in PCspecialist's forum but it seems like the technicians there don't bother to answer so I think I'll try my luck here :)

The plan is to have a 240gb Intel 520 SSD built as my primary hard drive and I'll pull my Western Digital Black 500gb from my old laptop and use it as second hard drive. However, I find the configurator in the PCspecialist's website is a little bit unclear. If my configuration is as the following:

Memory - Hard Disk: 240gb Intel 520 SSD
    2nd Hard Disk: NONE
mSATA SSD Cache / Storage Drives: NONE
DVD/BLU-RAY Drive: 2nd/3rd Harddrive optical bay caddy

So does that mean the Vortex will have maximum 3 hard drives? I ask this because some of the disassembly videos I've seen do not clearly show the slot of the 2nd hard drive and every topics about additional hard drive is about installing it in the optical bay.
As far as I'm concerned, the main HDD slot comes with SATA 3 while the optical drive comes with SATA 2. So if the 2nd HDD slot does exist, will it be SATA 2 or 3 and does it come with a caddy as well?

    Thanks you guys a lot.

    Simple, really.
Optical bay plays the role of the second HDD slot and is SATA-2.
So you can have the SSD and HDD inside, if you buy a caddy for it.

Its listed as 2nd/3rd because on different models it might be 2nd (P150EM) and on P170EM it will be 3rd (because it already has 2 primary slots.

There is only one hard drive bay. Other then that you have the mSATA slot and can put a hard drive in place of the ODD which requires a caddy.
