Hey all not sure if you guys are aware of the codes that have been revealed so far in the game.
Cheats - Skyrim Wiki Guide - IGN
There is also a full game items guide by Micheal N. I got it yesterday, but I can't remember the link that I got it from. It's a 1.45 mb PDF item guide. Every code you could imagine.

i have everything maxed out except fxaa off.
pretty much a constant 50fps with some dips to 30ish but only for a few seconds. this has not affected the gameplay at all tho -

I'll look for some tweaks regarding the fog/smoke, peharps there's a way "minimize" the impact it has. -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
But still what i dont understand its the huge difference in fps. gtx485m should be the same power as the 580m, specially because mine is running at 700/1600.
And based on what i understand, gtx580m is in the same league/power as the 6990m.
So what i dont get is how you can get 60fps with ultrahigh config outside. Inside im getting 60fps as well, sometimes lower 50's or 45.
A good testbed would be Dragonsreech market place. Thats where most users, desktop as well, bring the system to the knees.
Would you care what portion of the game you were getting 60fps? It was inside or outdoor? Thanks. -
Anyone getting weird texture non-loads on their 6990m or 6970m? A lot of the trees or brick walls in some locations won't have the textures load so they just have a sort of ice blue look to them.

ok, installed fraps and here the results - settings:
16:9
1920x1080
AA: 8samples
AF: 16 samples
all set to ultra
Drivers: Catalyst version 2010.1208.2156.39317
Frame rates:
all indoor/dungeon: 60 flat, sometimes drop to 50/55 for 1sec or so
outdoor travel etc: 40-60, dropping on larger areas to sometimes 35. Haven't seen lower than 35.
Battle (e.g. Val): 50-60, with 60 flat, during some spells, etc drop to 50
my specs as below>>>
Hope this helps -

Thanks! I was assuming this isnt the driver version, but the control center version...
the driver is:
based on control center: Driver Packaging Version 8.81-101208a-111204C-Clevo
based GPUZ: atiumdag 8.810.0.0
Does that make sense? -

Dunno if this helps but ive got P151hm1 with intel 2630QM, GTX560, 8GB ddr3
(cheap clevo)
i run almost everything on ultra but shadows on high and decals on medium and anisotropic filtering down to 4x and AA at 2x
runs very well i get some stuttering using the HDMI output @ high temps. and i get a FPS drop in dungeons when there is crazy lifghting effects -
Im playing with ALL settings absolutely maxed and zero fps issues @1080p.
Glad i got the 6990m -

Alot of users reporting their settings should report their framerates as well.
Based on my knowledge, even desktop cards in the likes of high end ones (gtx570-580-6970) could not run the game at ultra, max AA while keeping 60fps.
The game engine has some issues with shadows and object rendering, thats why they advice to select Ultra preset, then into Advanced set shadows and object details to high.
Im happy to see users with a 6990-6970 running the game maxed out, but what are the framerates?
If those are in the high 30's or 40-45 then the performance its not good imho. Gamebryo engine based games should run 60fps on pc all the time without falling below the 50's to be optimal.
I can max out the game in every possbile way and get an average of 35 fps, still that makes the game not smooth. They didnt developed the game with a base framerate of 30fps such witcher 2, the whole engine has no framelimiter, beside the forced vsync. Therefore at 30-40 fps it seems to stutter or jitter, its not a good experience imho.
As for me, ive maxed out the game, 2xAA or Fxaa doesnt change much, i can either choose one of those and keep my performance as it is.
Then ive set shadows and onbjects from ultra to high as adviced by the developers, but for further eye candy ive enabled draw shadows on land, trees and rocks, changed the fov as well.
And the lowest ive seen was 45fps, mostly 55-60 all the time, with my gpu clocked at 700-1600. -
Not sure if anyone have tried this yet,
Skyrim Better Performance at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community
Seems like a .dll to let the game run better with higher frame rates and playability. Do give it a try as it's relatively safe and doesn't modify anything and can be deleted if you do not find it useful
I can't use it for now as I'm still awaiting my laptop to arrive =( -
So has anyone found a fix for the 6970m fps issue??
-
What issue? The game runs great for me.
-
Some of us are getting low framerates with 6970M and 6990M.
In my case, the game doesn't seem to fully utilize the gpu. Usage is between 30-60%. What's strange is that when gpu power is most needed (in cities and such) it is also at it's lowest.
I tried updating from 11.10 to 11.11 today, but the issue still remains
EDIT:
I just installed that .dll. It seems my frames are a tad better, but gpu usage is maxed out at 50 % ad i'm getting 30 fps at the market in Dragonsreach... -

You're just going to have to wait until AMD releases their new drivers or a patch for Skyrim.

Could some of you that are reporting good performance with either the 6970m or the 6990m tell me what their framerate is whenlooking down at Dragonsreach from the top of the stairs? Also which settings and gpu usage you are getting (if possible)
THANKS -

So is the 6990M worth the upgrade, or can I get about the same performance with the 560M?
How does the 6990M fare against the 580M in regards to skyrim? -

AMD Radeon HD 6990M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
Nvidia tends to have better driver support, but it's not enough to close that kind of gap between two totally different cards. The 580m is direct competition to the 6990, though at much higher cost. The 485m can come close with overclocking. -
Even by brothers HP DV6 Select Edtion with 6770m runs Skyrim With max setting except AA on 1080 resolution!
