    I think this was asked some time ago (not sure, but you can search this forum). The best guess we came up with was that it was for those who put a tuner card in their laptop. Otherwise, it is unused.

    Yes, exactly. You've got a small antenna port on the side, that has a rubber cap on it. The IR port is for the remote control
