Hey guys, I recently received my P150SM-A with the GTX 970M and I was shocked to find out how good it performs. This is with just a simple software overclock, no flashing of the BIOS or changing any voltages.
It may not be much for you guys but for me its amazing!

Haha yeah, 970M is a hell of a card. It's an upgrade from my 780Ms even.
-
Yeah its pretty awesome, especially since I was playing my games on a Nvidia 320m (LOL)
-
XD I went from a 280M to SLI 780Ms. You had a similar performance jump XD.
-
I think the next series (paired with Skylake) should become reason enough for me to upgrade
Wonder what the new names will be.... gtx1080 sounds unlikely (or does it....)
And I secretly hope for a non-optimus solution....or just a switch to turn it off....
Skylake will be my next upgrade. -

Yes the 970M is ok for 780/880M users who are looking for a smaller form factor but it's not a huge jump, a "1070" (or whatever it may be called) would likely be more interesting. I'm guessing it would be a 980M level of shaders with a 192bit bus and 3 or 6GB of vram but that's just an educated guess.

1070M should be a 970 desktop card, and 1080M should be a 980. The question is, are those cards going to be as good cooling-wise that I could use the EM heatsinks for my CPU? XD

GTX 1080P (performance edition) if nVidia wanted to epic troll everybody
I can just imagine the marketing tagline: Introducing the all new 1080P Performance Edition™, a card so powerful you'll be able to push 120 FPS at 1080p!D2 Ultima likes this. -

It's unlikely to be 256bit. -
True, I should have been clearer: I think the core count will be the same and they might use a 192-bit mem bus because "why would anybody buy a 1080M if they could get the $300 USD cheaper 1070M?" (like why people jump on the 970 now)
-
My thoughts on this are they buy it because they are "long term buyers" as opposed to a lot of the people on this forum who may buy on a yearly basis
-

Yes but they are the minority, most people will get the best value per $ within reason. If the 970m was closer to the 980m more people would buy it instead so they cut it down.
-
nice!
i ended up getting a 980m
not overclocked *
The New GTX 970M is amazing
