    What exactly does the 7-pin S-Video port on the back of the m570ru output? Does it output S/PDIF or only video?

    if you read the manual, its only video out.

    SPDIF is using the headphone jacks (which can be configured in the Realtek Sound/Effect Manager).

    Remember this is SPDIF Coaxial (so you will need a 3.5mm mono to RCA)
