All orders with ATi MR HD3870 or nVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS will not be accepted as of now.

Sigh, seems like this laptop is becoming less customizable by the minute.

I think that all those who have orders for the ATI and the GTS should be upgraded to the GT due to the misinformation of the pre-orders by XoticPC and Powernotebooks as compensation.

Technical issues, I'm guessing. The 9800m GT pretty much is a 8800m GTX, so it's probably tried, true and ready for prime time.

Deathwinger was asking about free upgrade to those who ordered 3870/GTS, and Justin said that, but there was no mention of discount for the GT. You're the one who brought up discount/refund for those who ordered the GT.

handle a 500gb hhd? by the way i wish 8660 could handle the ati card, that's what i had planned to get , now it might be to expensive! + the ati is more energy friendly isn't it?

That's a little unfair, don't you think? Those who ordered a discontinued card will possibly get a discount or a free upgrade to the 9800m GT but those who originally chose it got screwed.

Whats unfair? Those who wanted the 9800M GT are getting exactly what they ordered and paid for. Those who's budget wouldn't allow for the upgrade and ordered one of the recently discontinued cards, get it for free. (those that are inconvenienced with this update)

So if I ordered a discontinued card, I would have gotten a free upgrade to the better video card which was a $165 value? That's really nice.

What would you say Sager's turnover rate is for warranty use? It may be beneficial to give each customer that ordered at 9800GT a 1 year extension to the warranty and if they ordered a 3 year just discount 1 of the years.

If the notebook ends up having no problems, it doesn't go back to Sager and Sager isn't out the money used on parts and labor for the extended warranty period.

 

Sager will upgrade all orders that have been placed for the 9800M GTS or the ATi 3870 with the 9800M GT at no cost.

I have to agree that it is rather unfair. Perhaps those whom ordered before this announcement should get the 9800M GT free. Yes, free, regardless of their previous configurations (whether configured with a 9800GT or not).

It is true that those who ordered the lesser cards may have had budget issues but that doesn't exactly mean that those who ordered a better card and paid a premium for it wouldn't like to get their card free as well.

Just because I have more money doesn't mean I want to blow it while the next guy gets the same machine $165 cheaper.

Owning a Mercedes doesn't inhibit people from making trips to the dollar store now and then.

You guys want price matching, buy your laptop at bestbuy. They are fixing a issue which might have meant a complete loss of a laptop sale.

Exactly, the assumption that those of us who ordered the 9800m GT originally were totally happy with the price we paid for it is ridiculous. Of course it's unfair that someone is getting the same thing as me for almost $200 cheaper and frankly, I will be canceling my order if that's the case.

Is the ATI 3870 eventually going to be offered with the NP5796 or NP9262? It's listed as an option for the NP5796 on Xoticpc's front page and it's listed on the specifications page for the NP5796 at Sager's website, but neither allows you to choose it in the configuration page.

 

At this point, I'll just point out that bwhxeon does not represent any Sager retailer, so you'll be arguing with another user, not a retailer.
