This probably sounds absurd, but it is completely true... As I was dusting my Sager with my hand, I was stabbed by the diagonal leg from the R.
If you take a look at the R, the tip is quite sharp... The logo appears to have been glued on, but unfortunately it was not glued on well enough.
I was wondering how you guys think I should approach Xotic PC about this.

Funny how fast people criticize when they don't understand. I didn't pay $2000+ to get cut because of poor craftsmanship. If you don't have helpful suggestions, please don't waste your time posting.

You posting a thread about this should expect criticism in the air. If you don't want to be criticized then just ignore the comments. As you can see, most posts in this threads are even sarcastic on your claim.

I could understand the frustration here. It's one thing when something is intended/expected to have a characteristics that can be considered "dangerous", such as a knife being sharp or an iron being hot; but something such as a superficial logo on a laptop being sharp enough to cut someone because it's not fully-attached to the lid is quite different.
-
And yes, I will call them to compensate, because I only received my sager two days ago, and like any normal sane person, I wouldn't want to have to call in and explain this unusual situation. However, this mistake on their part is still their mistake, and I want to rectify it, whatever the outcome may be.
Most of you don't understand that I am more bothered by the ruined Sager logo than the cut itself, and as a person who cares for aesthetics, I wouldn't want to have to return it for this reason. However, I was hoping they would, at the very least, compensate for the damaged logo. -
K everyone who spammed this post with sarcastic comments GTFO you're a waste of life. This is serious. This isn't "oh the magazine cut me." This is shoddy craftsmanship on their part, and what would happen if a serious injury would occur? And if he keeps cutting himself? This is a serious matter and no jokes should be made.

My advice to you would be to contact the reseller you bought it from and ask about what they would be willing to do to rectify the situation, because there is no way something like this should pass quality control, people have been sued for less. This is a problem that needs to be fixed. -

Please stay on-topic. If you don't have anything constructive to say then simply don't.
Thank you. -

Ask if you can remove the logo. Its looks much cleaner anyway

ok well apparently my post got deleted but karma still came back to bite me in the @ss...
just got my 8690 today and guess what ripped off the first time i tried the laptop in my bookbag...thats right the "R" in sager! it ripped right down the middle and scratched the surface a little bit lol but i aint sending it back just for a scratch...its kinda like its own battle wound now, it completes it
But my point is, yeah theyr not glueing the logo good enuff or something lol -
lawlz. It is pretty retarded that you spend 2 grand on a computer that is very sturdy and well built just to have the logo fall off. You'd think Sanger would put more consideration since that is how they will get the word of mouth advertisement going....
-
I would give them a call and see what they have to say.
Seems like they did a crappy job glueing the logo down. -
Is this a joke? Seriously it must be right..... you were "stabbed" by a sticker?
What are you 3.... go cry to mommy? ROFL.
No seriously, nothing constructive can be said about this and any attempts at being constructive are laughable... The op needs to grow up, sure call SAGER and ask em to send a new logo, but if your legit trying to get monetary compensation for a little poke from the sticker wow... what has the world come too. -
Here it starts again.
And I thought I was bad and cruel.
I guess the posts can be erased again. -

TBH i think the OP is just out for some freebies
if you are silly enough to stab yourself on a metal sticker then you need to be in a rubber room anyway -
Actually I think he does have a point. But what I find funny is the name of the topic.
-
haha in his defense ive been fingering (oh yeah) that R and it is pretty f'ng pointy, that thing is literally a mini-blade, I dont see any hospital visits in the future (unless you rub your eyes against it) but I do see more people cutting their fingers on this and the R coming off altogether. And whats wrong with the guy asking for a replacement emblem?? Furthermore he made a post to point it out. The thing stabbed his finger, I dont know about you guys but I'd be pretty irritated if it happened to me. Who only uses a cloth to clean the outside lid of their laptop?! I always use my hands. And he's not asking for punitive damages, jeez guys stop being jerkoff fanboys, the emblem is apparently lethal, get used to it.
-
The name of the topic may be funny and his initial post was crying for some of those answers, but I think he made it clear that he mainly is disappointed that the logo on his supposedly high quality machine for which he paid a lot of money fell of that easily. I think in that respect he has a point. Clevo delivers a great machine, Sager ruins it by poorely applying their logo.
-
yeah what ^^^ he said lol...i wanted my logo god damn it...not a broken "R"
lol
-
When I owned a Sager 8690 and was polishing it up to return it back to the vendor, the R also stabbed me! I actually started bleeding profusely from my finger and felt the same way about that cheap glued on logo.

Just don't buy Sagers. The name sucks, the logo sucks, the nonsensical # format of the rebranding sucks.
The Sager logo gave me a cut.
