How is everyone with the thickness of the clevo machines. I saw one in my history class and it looked really bulky (looked weird with the tiny screen coming from that behemoth). I'm just curious as to what everyone thinks of their size and if its a problem or burden? Otherwise, everything else about the machine (save maybe the loud fan) is awesome.

Which model did you see? For most people (students, light travelers), the P150HM/151HM1 are portable enough to be taken with them wherever they go. Of course, because of the notebook's performance and the cooling system/infrastructure needed to sustain that performance, it is about .5-1 pounds heavier than your average 15 inch notebook.

My NP5165 is probably a little thicker than I would like, and I carry it to work every day on my bike ... but, the performance trade off and screen quality is worth every mm.

Yeah, the NP5165 thickness is alittle below average for its class (about 1 inch at the thickest point). It's the lightness that makes it stand out from the rest of the 15.6" inchers (about 5.7 lbs)

    lol so true.

I agree with Malibal, extra thickness is a small price to pay for improve cooling and performance.

I personally like the look of the Sager/Clevo boxes, especially the NP8130. I can't wait to get mine, plunk it down next to the guy running his MacBook, and have him drool over my box. He pays a premium to be a sheep, I pay a premium for performance.

I can just imagine the convo....:

MBP: I look so cool and sleek!

    Clevo: Yeah...good luck with that.

MBP: I bet you can't look this good.

Clevo: Well, I can, but I don't really want to.

MBP: Hah! Well I'm going to go on Maya and do some work...

    Clevo: Already finished.

    MBP:.......

Clevo: You're gonna get started? I'll just play a game while you begin.

    MBP:...right....
