Just got my Malibal Lotus P150HM in the mail, well almost. it says on ups.com that it left cerritos california at 6:45 am and it never checked in anywhere else today. so like edit:"lol sorry cuss bad", shouldn't they check in somewhere everyday, and i can't imagine it taking more than 18 hours for it to get here from the LA area.

Make sure someone is there to sign for the package when it arrives. It will probably be there today 7/7.
-
yeah my dad will be here cause i think i have to be 21 to "sign" also later on im going to be interested in buying an ssd to put in a caddy, just to put the operating system and a few games on. any recommendations. it needs to be reliable and will sata 3 work with my notebook?
-
You probably read my posting about just receiving mine and grats in advance on yours. On my initial impressions I really like the Intel 510 series 120gb on mine. I originally was going to order the Intel 310 series 80gb but realized that it was only Sata II. I had read many reviews and I would say the 510 series is great for the price. There are however better SSD's out there but they will cost you substantially more.
Good luck! -
what about this one Newegg.com - Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F120GB3-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) which ssd has the best reliability, and what about the crucial m4
-
Well as far as the Corsair drive goes, I know that they did have a recall on them. Also, I could not find any actual accredited reviews for that drive other than the average consumer's experience. Not to say it may not be a better drive, I just couldn't find any info on it. As for the Crucial drive, I honestly never researched or even looked at it (so many drives I miss some
).
But as I said, I read no negative reviews on the Intel. They were either positive, or the early on one's were a little skeptical on it's place in the market since it was one of the first but they had admitted that so far it was a damn good drive. -
I signed for mine, and I'm 19...definitely don't need to be 21 unless you're receiving alcohol (I don't think that Malibal is THAT nice....)
-
They might give us elemental guns from Borderlands though. You know, <s>with their original name being Maliwan</s> for no reason at all.
-
no its just i remember telling the ups guy i was 18 and he said i had to be 21, maybe it was fedex but still df.

Here's to hoping you get it today!
I ordered mine, and the rep said it was already in the ship queue, but I haven't received a tracking email yet.
Hoping it got sent out today..... -
lol i checked last night around 1:00 am still nothing, then wokeup at 9:00 and it said that it arrived in tempe yesterday around 5:00pm, and that it was shipped out this morning at 6:55am, so im still waiting bfbc2 disk in hand.
-
CATALANOpunch Notebook Consultant
I can't wait to play BFBC2 on ultra.
On a side note, have you ever played the civilization series? -
no i only play age of empires 2
-
BFBC2 on Ultra is meh, not the best looking graphic game. I ran it on close to 60pfs and there are so many better look games, but it is nice though.
-
I may order my Malibal notebook soon too! Good luck with yours!
It's all about playing BF3 in Ultra now! -
Yup but I take it you have duel SLI 485m or 580m in your notebook?
-
mua hahahah mua hahaha. translation:"im posting this from my p150hm."
-
Congrats! How do you like it?
-
its awesome the keyboard is amazing the screen is so bright i had to turn it down and this thing is slick flat black with the chrome.
-
Nice! I'm glad you're enjoying your notebook! Send us a PM if you need anything. Thanks!
-
Nice, I'm about to order my Lotus P151HM1 myself... as soon as a Malibal rep responds to the Live Chat at least; I suppose I should probably just call them.
-
every one says its rubbery, but its not really. its just a bit more grippy than plastic. and i tested the sound its very good, and coming from someone who has taken 3 years of sound engineering classes that's pretty good. its quite a bit wider than my d820, so illl have to get a different lap tray, and i wasn't expecting a carrying vase which is an extra bonus. thanks again Malibal.
-
one quick one: i noticed a red light coming out of the s-pdif headphone jack. I'm assuming that its an optical output which would be awesome. anyone know.
-
Does the bright screen hurt your eye, like eye strain?
I hate glossy screen but was wonder if a 95% gamut screen is as bright and colorful as a glossy screen but still be able to play in the sunlight?
Of course I never had a Matte screen, so I don't really know what it look like.
OH btw how is the Malibal nameplate looking?
-
I signed and I am 16 lol. You don't need your dad.
-
omg just put in badco 2 full detail everything maxed no lag whatsoever amazing omg. 32x csaa. the logo is chrome and it sticks out from the flat black case. for some reason theres no logo on the inside, but i don't care

Yep, as you guessed, that's your S/PDIF digital output. I use mine to connect to the home theater system
-
i put the screen at 2 levels from the bottom, and its good then otherwise it will hurt your eyes if you are using it indoors, im testing it outdoors and its readable in direct sunlight, not as bright as indoors but you get the point.
-
So would I be better off with a regular matte screen?
Oops just realize they don't have regular matt screen for the NP8150. -

Awesome to hear you got yours! Throw up some pics! -
If my card don't arrive soon like tomorrow I'm going to go nuts...my school mailroom don't work on weekend!
-
no im not saying that the screen is bad im just saying its so good that i need to turn down the brightness. the contrast is simply amazing.
-
Do you like your configuration. Had you had more money, what other upgrade would you opt for?
-
Nice, I was actually curios about the Malibal logo too. Sounds awesome--and personally I prefer a "Malibal" logo over Sager or Clevo.
-
An ssd, there's nothing else it needs, or maybe the blu-ray, but more likely an ssd and move the 500gb to the caddy, but still have the dvd drive, for installing games. maybe the better wifi, but i use the bluetooth. definantly not worth it to get the 580m or an upgrade for the cpu i was getting above 60 fps on badco 2 with every setting maxed with directX11, with overclock to 580m frequencies i was getting all above 70fps, and the cpu usage was always under 30%. at idle the temps were 33 to 35 degrees celcius. perhaps an extra battery as well. so in conclusion an ssd, blu-ray and an extra battery.
-
i will make a review and a video, but i need some time. oh and windows 7 is great much better than vista ultimate(failure)
-
is there anyway to enable the dual band my wireless card or is it already enabled. and yes my router supports 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless n

Looking forward to your review, dude!

The card is already enabled. Your router should be broadcasting the networks you want. If it supports simultaneous dual band, then you should be seeing two wireless SSIDs, one at 2.4 and one at 5ghz. However, if you have a dual band router that isn't simultaneous- you'll have to configure the router to use either or. For example, the router I run is a simultaneous dual band and has a guest network, so I've got 3 SSIDs broadcasting that I can choose from. -
Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 (shiny & annoying). The only reason I'm on 7 right now is because I wanted to RAID up my HDDs, and I put on 7 instead of re-using Vista because multiple programs I use have better Win 7 support. At which point, I blame lazy developers.
Did I mention there's only about 5% difference between the two? 4% of that's in the GUI and 1%'s in how developers actually work on making Win 7 program versions work. -

I am of the opposite opinion. Luckily Malibal says you can customize your laptop with no logos at all. I really hate the idea of putting a chrome distracting logo under the LCD on the bezel facing you but it's user preference. -

-edit double post
-
oh dam. i didnt know that you could ask for no logos. Is there any way to take them off without leaving any marks?
-
im looking forward to buy my own 8130
-
It much easier having Malibal do it since i heard the sticker is very hard to come off.
-
I love that idea it so gorgeous, and aduy you can always ask for them to ship you a Malibal sticker via postal mail
and maybe for a small fee or something.
-
It's already on its way here. I should get it tomorrow. Well if anyone has information on removing the logo then tell me please!
-
Who did you order with? Call them and ask them on maybe the best way to take off those sticker.
-
I'm hoping a Malibal rep will see this thread and point me in the right direction lol
-
If you bought from Malibal, it is not a sticker
Otherwise, yes they are the most active on this forum.
The package ive been waiting for
