Late last week I emailed Sager's sales department to inquire about discounts on some notebooks. I also had asked if they had anything comparable to the Alienware M15x coming out soon.

The sales representative who answered my email told me that he expected a 15.4" 8800GTX to be arriving "soon."

Hopefully it will come around with a fair price, well less than Alienware at least.

Sadly, this is not going to be coming from Sager anytime "soon".

Whoever told you "soon" has REALLY jumped the gun. This product is not yet even designed, so there is no way to know if, or when, it will actually be a released product.

Hmm.... I have not seen any evidence of this yet.

And if you know me.... I love knowing about new innovations in notebooks...

I will look into this... but I would expect that there is not much info on this rumor.

This rumor, if true, would be amazing... as well as perfect timing for CeBIT 2008.

Last year around this time, the D900C and M570RU were leaked and debuted at CeBIT under a lot of speculation and rumors for being the first 8800M GTX notebooks... which after almost a year... became true.

I wonder if Clevo actually has a 15.4" trump card to beat out the M15x... it would be a long time coming, since two generations ago when they stopped making 15.4" gaming notebooks.

The representitive couldn't give me a release date or pricing point. He did just keep saying "soon." I had emailed him about the 5793 and he did say to hold off on it if I really did want a 15.4" for portability and gaming.

All depends on how you define "soon." (Or, I suppose, you could take a page from the Great Prevaricator's book and just say, "it depends on what 'is' is").

The most aggressive Clevo rebrander, Eurocom, has given an initial date of May 1, '08; however, a more reasonable date would be, perhaps, July 1. Even so, from Feb 18th to May 1 is not really "soon" in my book, and July 1 certainly isn't. :D

Well everybody does have a different definition but I just thought I should mention that I said it was going to happen a month ago and there were non-believers. :)

Instead of a release date, I just want a price. I don't _need_ to replace my notebook until the end of the year so release date to me doesn't really matter as much as price.

If you don't need it until the end of the year then today's price, or the release date price or date are be pretty irrelevant. Wait until you are ready to buy and you may well see many more choices, as well as the current "relevant" pricing. :)
