From what's been posted, I've gathered that it is worth going with the IC Diamond compound. At the very least you'll get 3-4C in lower temperatures which can sometimes be the difference between a loud fan or a quiet fan. The question really is whether you're comfortable enough to apply the compound yourself and save around $30. I opted to have the reseller apply the compound for me.

I just recently got my np8150 from malibal, and what I've noticed from the IC Diamond compound is that the video card and CPU cools down from a load a lot faster than what I'm used to (for example, after running something that's GPU intensive, it cools down in about a minute or two back to near idle temps). You'll also benefit from lower temps during load, which is good for the GPU and CPU. IC Diamond has been proven to be the best thermal compound out there (google "ic diamond review"), and I don't regret paying for having it professionally installed.

BUT, if you don't anticipate doing anything very CPU and/or GPU intensive, it probably won't make a difference.

IC Diamond (or most better-than-stock pastes) tend to make a 4-7C difference on average. It's not drastic, but every bit helps :)

Combine that with using it a on hard level surface and keeping the vents clear and you shouldn't have any temp problems.

Yeah, I run SCII on Extreme (720p) for an hour with IC Diamond and a Zalman NC-1000 cooler, and there has been no uncomfortable heat on the palmrests. Hot air is definitely blowing out the left side vent, which is good.

I have a friend who got it and said it made a noticeable difference...not huge but noticeable.

I'm personally leaning towards doing what is in the thread ComradeNF linked...but that would be for only if you're alright with applying it yourself.

Applying it yourself is like getting a perfect score on an American high school course; beyond simple. Clevo has made it extremely easy to access both the CPU and GPU heatsinks. With HP and some other brands, it is very difficult to gain access to these components, but on the P151HM1 and other clevo models it is very easy. It is even easier than adding TIM to a desktop since the heatsink is so easy to put back into place.
