New here! Thanks for all the information that you've already given me.
I'm planning to purchase a NP8131 from XoticPC (at least, that's my current reseller of interest) but I'm confused about what I'm actually going to get.
I'm aware that there is an NDA blocking specifics, but some resellers, and I forget which, state that the Sandy Bridge notebooks from Clevo/Sager are gone for good, and that the Ivy Bridge ones will be the next ones available. This makes the current preorder confusing, to say the least.
I'm hoping to get my computer sometime in April or March. I was planning to put in the order this week, and I understand about the deferred shipping until 4/12/12.
Am I going to get the GTX 560m and the i7-2670QM (or i7-2760QM, haven't made up my mind yet) or will they magically turn into the ivy bridge equivalents?
I would be more than happy with the specs as the customizer shows, but my reading has left me unsure of what I will get.
(My interest in the i7-2760QM has to do with it's Virtualization tech that the i7-2670QM does not have. Will the equivalent ivy bridge have these technologies present? I'm unsure.)

well the only difference between the i7-2760QM and i7-2670QM is VT-d, VT-x which most would need is enabled on both processors.
do you specifically need VT-d features? also I haven't really checked on mine but I'm guessing VT-d is turned off by Sager/Clevo by default on their bios and if that is so then in terms of virtualization there really would be no difference except for the small speed increase -
I'm in the same situation as you ManyBlankStares. From what I heard Ivy Bridge may be available as soon as April 29th. However I'm not sure if the order will be processed and shipped prior to that date or it won't be processed until after April 29th. I think the replacement for the i7-2670qm is the i7-3610qm.
I remember XoticPC saying that they will put together whatever is available. If there's no more Sandy Bridge then you'll get Ivy Bridge. Wait until April 5th, that is when NDA will be lifted. -
I didn't realize that they would have had it disabled, but then again, I also forgot that in order to make use of remotefx I would have to disable it anyway. I guess that answers that questions. i7-2670 it is, then.
Unless I wait for ivy bridge.
The $50 deferred savings ends on April 5th, so I wonder what I'm going to do.
What's the ETA for Nvidia's new cards?
Why do I feel like there was something weird with the gtx 660m... I need to do more research. -

Welcome to NBR ManyBlankStares!
When you place a pre order you dont have to pay until there is one in stock for your order. And you are never obligated to purchase anything. If all the parts come in for your order and you're not happy with the configuration you can cancel the order with no fees at all. Since they have the deferred shipping special on them right now it doesn't hurt at all to place a pre order.
Thinking about buying a NP8131, but have a couple questions...
