    Hi,

I am looking to buy a new laptop for under £1000. I've decided to get one with the Intel i7 3610QM or better and a GeForce GT 650M or better. I also want BluRay and a full HD screen.

I was looking on PC Specialist's web site and they have a model that looks suitable. They call it the Optimus III but it is apparently based on the Clevo W150ERM. Is this a good laptop? Anyone know how hot/noisy it gets? Once I have configured it how I want (including a matt screen) it comes to about £850.

CyberPower UK are selling a similiar model but it is based on the W150ERQ. Unfortunately the GPU only has 1GB of DDR3 where are the PCSpecialist model has DDR5. Also they charge a fortune for upgrading to Blu-Ray so I'd have to buy a drive separately and install it myself. But is the ERQ chassis somehow better than the ERM?

Are there any other laptops that offer similar/better specification within my budget? Note that I don't need an OS as I already have a retail copy of Windows 7.

    Thanks,

    James

It's fairly quiet and temperatures are okay. It's a nice laptop. Good power for a decent price.
