Price- $2,074.00 (just over my $2,000 limit, but what can you do)

It looks great on paper, and it's nice that I still have the XP Pro to install on it from my stolen laptop, but I have a couple questions. First of all, does anyone know if it is possible to order this Sager with the older geforce 7950GTX card? In the older games I typically play, that would seem to be a much better card than the 8700M GT, and hopefully it'd be the same price as the 8700 as opposed to the 400 dollar upgrade to the 8800 card, which is out of my price range by a long shot. Also, are these laptops with the penryn processors already shipping, or would I have to wait a month or so for my order to ship? Finally, what does everyone think of the silver finish as opposed to the orange? I think the orange trim looks a bit tacky, but I guess it's hard to be discrete with a laptop this large no matter what color it is.

I don't think that the 7950GTX can be ordered, but you should ask the reseller.
I like the orange trim better, some people like the silver one, it's a matter of preference. The orange trim looks way better in person, compared to photos. It's a gaming color :).

The NP579x is no longer available with the 7950 GTX card. They have been discontinued.

Yes, they are shipping with the Penryn processors.

The color is a subjective choice only you can make...

If you get a 120 5400 rpm that might save you a few bucks..Also, getting a matte screen and only 2 years of warranty might be close enough to get a 8800M GTX...WELL WORTH it,trust me, twice as good as the 7950GTX...if you can go for that, I strongly advise you to consider the possibility...

Hmmmm... I'd love the 8800GTX, but the only way I can afford to do it is if I really skimp on the warranty, and that sounds like it is asking for trouble. I've never had a notebook before other than my 5 month old stolen gateway, so would I really need a full 3 year warranty, or is the cheapest warranty an acceptable tradeoff to get the better card? I think I will go with the sager for sure, so it just comes down to which screen/GPU I would get.

Well, Xoitc has 3yrs LAbor 4 free. I second Elerons suggestion, get the 8800m. Also, a 500 GB external HD can be found if u search 4 about 50 bucks. So, like eleron suggested, u should downgrade the HDD to make space in ur budget 4 the 8800m. However, if u really think that that is not possible, then ur current config looks alright. But the 8800m is like 2.5X the 8700...

Good Luck on the Purchase. :)

When you send the machine back to CA for repair work, they don't charge labor. Same thing for parts.

Think auto mechanics. Take a look at someone's oil change bill and you'll understand.
