Just thought I would pass this on that Intel released new firmware for SSD's. We just received our office use 8662 last week and it did not have this update. I updated our Intel X25-M Solid State Drive, 80GB. All went smooth. This also applies to the 160GB too. Intel states "This firmware revision has several continuous improvement optimizations intended to provide the best possible user experience with the Intel SSD". All you need to do is to burn the ISO to a CD and boot to it.

I have had no success updating the firmware on my 160gb x25-M on my HP HDX18. HP locks out the BIOS so that I can't change to Legacy, Compatibility, or AHCI mode per Intel's instructions. I've tried installing the SSD on a Dell desktop and a Dell laptop where I was able to change the mode as required, but the update software would not recognize the drive (and they were connected properly to a SATA port). My only viable solution at this point is to return the laptop, buy a new one and hope that it has the new firmware. I'm already experiencing slow downs from the fragmentation issue under the old firmware.
