Looks good to me, I got pretty much the same thing except I decided to get the 95% gamut screen.
-
Looks awesome. I wish I could be more "value" conscious.
That's a sweet rig for $1500!
-
awakeN, with all the time you've spent on the forum recently, I better hear a solid review from you once you get it
Grats on machine. It sounds great. You're missing an SSD though -
I'm too poor to afford an SSD Q.Q
I'll grab one once SSD prices drop.

Crucial M4 2.5" SATA III SSD's: 128GB (CT128M4SSD2) $120, 256GB (CT256M4SSD2) $230 + Free shipping - TigerDirect.com Deals, Coupons and Promos
And I'm looking to buy a build similar to yours (from XoticPC)? Any particular reason you chose the 1333MHz RAM over the 1600MHz (except for the $50 cut)? -
I chose 1333MHz RAM because I'm just gaming. I asked in some other forum whether the 1600 MHz was worth the extra $50. I got this answer.
-
Got a similar system with XoticPC. Except went for the 2 year warranty and no hard drive. I just purchased a 256gb ssd crucial yesterday. I cant wait to get my hands on the machine in early june!

Final task is to wait for the 7970. I preordered the D3 but looks like i won't be able to play until i receive this laptop. I sacrifice not being to play for couple of weeks for better graphics =D -
just wondering if they still offer nbr discount?
-
You guys know there is a P150EM owner's lounge, right? You should be showing off there, not in a small topic that will die soon. Owner's lounges are eternal. -
Yes, I know there's an owner's lounge. Just wanted to make my own little topic for no reason whatsoever -

Nice! I pulled the trigger as well yesterday. Just wish I had more constraint on my build. Totally spent more than I wanted. My excuse to my wife was that, I am future proofing it for another few years. Now lets keep our fingers crossed on a mid-May release on the 7970!

i was about to order..but malibal does not offer the the downgrade memory option, does anyone know will xoticpc offer cash discount+free shipping+ nbr discount? or malibal will offer something else to match xoticpc's deal

We just can't really post in speculation threads or post about anything coming out 3-6 months down the road due to NDAs and all that good stuff. -
I'm not saying that's all resellers do, I'm saying that's all that happens in the owner's lounges.
-
I'm ordering the same as OP except with an Intel 520 120GB SATA III SSD from powernotebooks.
Depending on whether I can have a friend in the US at the earliest possible time of delivery (I live in the Middle East), I can save 165 USD on shipping and get another SSD and stripe them.
I ordered 1600 MHz RAM sticks because Ivy bridge supports that natively, and so I can downclock them but tighten the timings, which matters more than just MHz. Also, everybody I've talked to tells me that even 8GB is overkill, specially considering that we win7 will be around for a while, and even win8 down the pipeline isn't that demanding. I suppose adding another 8GB in a couple of years won't be too difficult.
I was pondering the "better" screens but to be honest, you need to do a pro hardware calibration to make use of it, and unless you own one of these machines, or know someone that does, you're gonna have to pay for the reseller to calibrate it for you, which is -no offence- a nifty little theft since calibration depends on environment, lighting, and is affected with time by a lot of things. In other words, you pay your reseller 50 bucks and then it gets shipped across the land and seas, and by time you open it up in your house it requires another calibration, or in a few weeks at max. I didn't want the hassle, and you might as well get the stock if you do a software calibration.
My .02$ -
So how long do these things typically take to ship? Anticipation!
-
I got the same build.
3610
8GB DDR3 1333mhz
500GB seagate Hybrid Drive [swapping out for a 256GB Crucial m4 or 240GB Corsair Force Series 3].
FHD Matte Display with 72% Gammut [at least its better than 60% ha]
7970m
Eurocom branding on it which I'm not sure I want -_- but don't want to spend $50 removing... -
Alright, my order went through with Xotic PC and is in the preorder phase
Thanks to Alison for informing me of everything. Faith in Xotic PC is very strong! -
That is really weak man... -
-
how do you do no branding? Did you convince Sager to simply not put their logo on some machines or is it simply a type of sticker thing that your guys remove..?
-
I plan on getting the lid replaced later from another reseller with a blank one; I just don't want to spend $50 extra to have a different lid installed by them [over priced]. I'll spend it in a few months if it still bothers me. I do love the plain look with no branding though; but for now performance is more important.

The embedded BIOS Sager launch is still in there -

Otherwise you have a blank lid stock from Clevo with a Clevo bios.

From my experiences:
Advantages:
Glossy: Super clear, vivid colors, slightly better viewing angles
Matte: Little/no glare, harder to notice smudges/dust/ect.
Disadvantages:
Glossy: Heavy glare, smudges easily, attracts dust/dirt
Matte: Colors aren't as bright/detailed, lose a little viewing angle
But really, different strokes for different folks. In general, if your computer is going to sit on a desk its whole life where you can control the light, glossy may be better. If you will be using your laptop in a variety of places where you can't control the light matte may be better. -
Is it possible to order just the lid from a reseller? Is this a dumb question lol...
Time to finally order a P150EM!
