Oh well, I resigned to send my lappy in for servicing. 2 thingts I want them to check is that the laptop won't power up when I have a second HDD in the expansion bay (I own a 5760/m57u). The other thing is it looks like the LED backlight doesn't turn off when the lid is closed.

My baby left this morning Puro ground. I hope they'll just changed the mobo and everything will be back to normal lol.

As of now the tech support guy was always quick on replying my emails. So I am quite happy with this up to now.

I'll report when I get it back.

'til then no gaming for me :( .

Let us know hos it goes!!! Right now I'm debating on whether to go with Eurocom or XoticPC. I know that Eurocom is in Canada, but Xotic seems to get higher reviews on customer service. That said, buying from the US can be tricky.

Agreed! Look out for the threads on that matter just lately. Buying from Canada could be more worthy that you think.

    Update #1:
Eurocom started working on my lappy withing 1 working day. Great news. Motherboard need to be replaced. No mobo in stock. That sucks big time.

    Will get an estimate soon.

Woohoo! Typing this from my m570u right now!!!

Well all went very neatly with Eurocom.

    1. Lappy sent Aug. 07
    2. Word from tech on 8th; need to replace mobo; none in stock. Will get friday 10.
    3. Got a word from tech on 10th. There's an issue with the mobos they got. Have to wait for next batch. Dammit.
    4. Send an email to tech Aug 14. Got a reply and repairs are done and lappy's in testing. w00t!
    5. Lappy shipped back Aug. 15 and got it Aug. 16.

Not too shabby isn't it? Nothing against the U.S. resellers, but looks like this is the best place for us Canadians.

    What they did:
    • Replaced the motherboard
    • Fixed magnet mount to shut LCD off on lid closed (it WAS defective).
    • Replaced top cover with Synaptics touchpad. Told me that sometimes when they put this model apart the top cover breaks. Good for my as I hated the Elantech anyway.
    • Paid for shipping both ways. Maybe because I had the 3 years on-site, even though ATS is out.

    So that's it.

My gmail chat history has 41 entries. 90% of them replied within 2 hours. And god know how I can be annoying lol :).

So now the 2nd SATA drive is not preventing PC to boot anymore, the LCD shuts off when my lid is 75% closed and I have a brand new top (I even have to remove the sticker on the top acrylic bar where the power button is.

Great. Just great. Kudos to Sean McLaren who was my contact! I think he made the repairs :).

Considering they had to wait for a new mobo that sounds like pretty good service to me

Good to hear everything went well. :)

Thanks for the update. I will definitely go with Eurocom, but I decided to wait it out until the 570RU gets the promised Quadro GPUs.
