So im thinking of buying a GURU Fire SB from www.notebookguru.de with the following specs:

    - Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.2-3.1 GHz 6 MB Level3 Cache
    - AMD Radeon HD 6990M with 2048 MB GDDR5 RAM
    - 8x Multi DVD Burner
    - Ultimate-N 6300 Intel
    - Schweden / SWE Keyboard
    - No OS
    - I would buy an SSD in my country 120GB, which one is the best one? Thinking of this one.
    - As for the RAM i have no idea... 8GB? 12GB? 16GB? 1333mhz? 1600mhz? When decided wich sticks do i actually get? What do? I will be gaming on this notebook, might use it for some photoshop like making a sig or whatever so it doesn't really count as a factor for deciding any specs.

Also do you know of any ebay reseller that you know is good that sells 12.7 HDD bays? That ship worldwide/sweden also the cheaper the better.

    Thanks a ton :D

site doesn't seem to offer the an IC diamond upgrade which you could do on your own.

8gb of ram is more than enough for gaming/standard user

an Intel 510 or Crucial M4 for SSD

I could have sworn it had the IC diamond upgrade :p

    Anyways 1333mhz or 1600mhz? Why?

And also why those SDDs? Are they cheaper? Better?

If you just game, get the 1333MHz it's more than enough. It's the RAM speed, not that games require that a whole lot.

A SSD is a Solid State Drive in which (most) most of them use NAND-based flash memory, which retains memory even without power. A SSD doesn't havea any moving parts, so it's silent and fast as hell.

Check this out for a comparison between SSD and normal HDD :): Solid-state drive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    - And yes, they are WAY BETTER, but cheaper, oh no, I wouldn't call them that... :D

I knew what the RAM speed was and what an SSD is :p

I just wanted to know why i would want faster RAM (seems like i don't :O)

And also why the SSDs he mentioned over the one i was looking at...

Here is an effect that higher clocked RAM has on gaming:

AnandTech - Sandy Bridge Memory Scaling: Choosing the Best DDR3

As you can see it's nearly zero.

I also recommend Samsung 830, Crucial M4 and Intel 510 SSDs. They are SATA III SSDs with Marvel controllers. Sandforce controllers are known to have some compatibility issues with Clevos and are less reliable in general. The first 2 are priced much better than Intel 510 while keeping good reliability and performance.
