Hey Guys,
I did a review a while back of the Sager 8153 GTX 1070 laptop. Since it was the first review, I got flooded with hundreds of questions. After about hundreds of questions I started to notice the same questions had been asked over and over. As a result, I made this video to address the top five most asked questions by reviewers.
Respectfully,
Joseph

One question: since you didnt opt for a secondary, non-m.2 drive (which I did), does the package come with the necessary screws/other stuff needed to mound secondary storage in the future?
Also, Im expecting a lot of people to disagree with your assessment of the 6700HQ, and will point the The Witcher 3 as an example -
The very small screws for the HDD bays I don't use were in a small bag in the same bag the manual came in. -

Awesome. Wouldn't have realized that those screws were for the m.2 stuff.
Also, I'd like to point out that two of your points run contrary to opinion of the guys in the p650 thread: 1) That the 6700HQ is sufficient (they like to point to The Witcher 3 as an example where this processor bottlenecks the GPU), and 2) That a 1080p screen is better. I know it's all personal preference, but just find it interesting.Last edited: Nov 8, 2016 -
Two questions.
Is this the same as the Eluktronics P670RP6?
If I wanted to order a 1tb 7200rpm drive to fit this laptop (P670RP6), what type Do I need? I know that's subjective but, I recently ordered the Eluktronics on Amazon and it comes with a 128 gb SSD. I just realized that the pc I ordered did not come with a regular HDD. Thus I will need to order something. I'm looking for size Sata etc.Last edited: Nov 10, 2016 -
The P670 motherboard is not the same as the P650, but they have many similarities.
For your laptop, your manual states that you can install any size 2.5" SATA HDD in it. It also says that if you want to do RAID, make sure that the HDD you purchase is 7mm thick so that both will fit properly.

Thank you Equatis.

No worries.
Going to follow up next week with a third video that is tested on the 8153, but more specific to hot running Skylake notebook CPU's in general. I'm going to test out this Thermal Grizzly TIM that everyone has been telling me I should get to take care of the almost 90C my CPU is getting. Hopefully the before and after results will be promising. -

Just on the 15 inch but due to the heatsink differences it allows it all to fit.

Thanks for the 2nd video. It helped me a lot to make my decisions.
I ordered my Sager NP8153-S (Clevo P650RS-G) nVidia GTX 1070 8GB from Gentechpc.com a week ago. Due to my concerns regarding the back-light bleeding, I asked for a picture of the screen before shipment. Here is the picture I got:
I asked the laptop to be returned to Sager so that screen bezels would be readjusted. Here's the picture from sager saying the readjustments have been done:
I still can see those bright top corners and I am wondering what to do? Any advice is highly appreciated .. -
Hey HFaz63,
From what I've seen, it looks like you got yourself a very good screen! I know backlight bleed sucks, but it's an unfortunate byproduct of the technology/manufacturing process at the moment.
I would also add that the pictures are probably inconsistent. They probably have different exposure levels. If the scene is really dark, cell phone cameras will often automatically jack the ISO (exposure) up way high and make backlight bleeding look 10X worse than what you would ever see with your own eyes.
Let me give you an example. After Sager readjusted my bezel, my backlight bleed looks very similar to yours on top. The top picture is what happens when I adjust the exposure level to closely match what I see with my own eyes, while the bottom picture is what the bleed looks like when the camera automatically chooses it's own exposure level (default settings). You get the idea.
The exposure on the picture Sager sent you looks more natural and, in my opinion, doesn't look bad at all. I think you'll be very satisfied with the screen. -
thanks for the insight. You are a professional expert and i wonder why you don't have your own PC business.
I asked sager to ship it back to me. I will do further testing and let you know.
