" i guess i should have said Resellers in the title *_*. My bad on this. Basically what is the best place ( in terms of support and guaranty) to buy my laptop. Thx again for your comments."
Well I was finally convinced in this forum to buy a clevo.
But from which of the manufacturers should i buy my clevo from?
I saw many places in the guide.
But if you would rank from 1 to 5, which ones would you chose to buy from ( I.E. In terms of customer support, warranty).
Thanks alot in advance. I just cant make up my mind from which ones i should buy.

In the US, there are many:
(with great BBB records and resellerratings)
.... etc...
In Canada:
- www.pro-star.com (Canadian buyer friendly)
In the UK:
for manufacturers in north america, there are only three of them: sager, pro star, and eurocom.
-
^^ that is corecct.
the "big Clevo three" importer OEMs of North America are:
- Sager
- Pro-Star / M-tech
- Eurocom
... AVAdirect is starting to import directly from Clevo as well.
They import the barebones from Clevo and then other smaller vendors (that cannot import) buy from them and re-brand it to their liking. -
My bad. I meant resellers. Should i just creat another thread with that on the title *_*?
What do you guys think of the top 3 or 5 resellers that would have the best support and guaranty? -
xoticpc and PNB are def. the best.
-
VoodooPC ... long long time ago
-
It all really depends on which forum you ask that question
On NBR, Xotic and Powernotebooks will get the majority vote.
On GoG (guru of gaming), Killernotebooks.
I think I am commiting a sin by mentioning the other forum here....just so you know, I have never posted on GoG. I only read. -
hes talking about manufacturers though. Xotic and Power are resellers of Sager, which ofcourse is the best out of all OEM's so it comes down to either xotic or powernotebooks.
-
@ MastaMarek, check post #5, he meant resellers. I love that quote in your signtature by the way.
-
Well, I'll vouch for Lynnbay. Their Prostars are a little bit cheaper than the Sager resellers when the free shipping is factored in, plus they come with a free year of accidental damage coverage.
-
haha yes, I was reading customer satisfaction thread in alienware section when I saw that and it made me laugh so I thought I ll just post in my sig so everyone can enjoy it -
They were NEVER that. Perhaps build quality, but not warranty, support, or getting your money's worth.
Lynnbay looks good too; If I were to reorder, I'd probably try them out (curious about Prostars as well and Sager seems to be way overloaded in comparison).
Killernotebooks... hehe. I can't believe that anyone takes them seriously. I *guess* lots of people must, but christ, that site is so unprofessional. -
-
i now know 4 people who went through or are going through what you did with alienware... i would NEVER recc them..
-
Alienware is great...
I think they fumbled with the m15x big time... but, for instance, the m17x looks like a solid machine.
Now, I don't even want to hear people start going about the money... that's just as much fanboyism as the AW's fanboys. It's all a matter of choice... I'm sure there are thousands of happy AW's owners and thousands of unhappy Clevo's owners.
Am I not right? -
i think milcs is unwell today and all i can do is appologise on his behalf -
But I believe there's both from every company. There's always unhappy users and I believe the proportion stays the same, eg 1%. Unhappy owners of Dell may represent 100 000 while Clevo is like 100 but Dell sells a lot more computers. -
I've got to throw in my vote for K|N. I have two machines from them. Never had to use warranty since nothing has ever gone wrong. As for support, as Mark's developed new stuff, or new tech became available, I was contacted by phone. Due to this, I upgraded from a 7900GT to a 7950 GTX when it came out for $45+trade. When he started modded the cooling, he gave me instructions on how to do it myself. He's helped me overclock with both modded gpu bio's and ideas. He's sent me a modded base plate for free. He even offered to send me a upgraded cpu he had laying around for free. Some of this has even happened AFTER the 1 year warranty expired. Basically I can't say enough good things about the company... You'd have a very tough time finding anyone who owns one of these rigs say anything bad about them.
The website isn't very good though, and they aren't well liked around these parts -

Why are there not more companies who obtain the barebones direct from Clevo? For example, PNB and Xotic are resellers of Sagers, but the only barebones that are identical to the Sagers are from Compal. Is there some type of exclusivity agreement that Sager, ProStar, and Eurocom have?
-
because sager, prostar and eurocom are manufactures, not resellers.

Shane@DARK. Company Representative
...or at least I don't. -

XoticPc provided great support, I have bought from them and dealt with them, and I will recommend them to anyone that wants to buy a Sager.
Also, KN systems are meant to be the fastest, albeit a tad pricier .
It all comes down to what and how much you`re willing to spend.
Heck, I ended up with an XPS1730 because I got an awesome deal... -
If you want to buy directly call Pro-Star they negotiate price, etc.
-
(just kidding)
-
); it does not cover manufacturing defects such as dead pixels. There is separate coverage for that (or, if available, the 30-day money back, no questions asked refund policy that some resellers have).
-
Lynnbay seems to be down. I too am trying to decide who to buy my new monster from.
Currently I think that xoticpc is my first choice. -
same with Pro-Star...
-

-
I've always assumed that all of them charge one. I was once considering returning my notebook to Lynnbay, but under the assumption that they have a fee, I couldn't see myself eating the $300. I never bothered to call about whether I was incorrect.
I need clarity on who does and doesn't charge. -

No Restock Fee! -

All Sager resellers should offer the Sager 30 day total satisfaction guarantee as described above.
Many do not have a restocking fee, but you would have to check with the reseller because the reseller would control that policy, not Sager. -
But they don't refund the shipping. =[ but I guess that's normal.
-
Has anyone had a good experience with Pro-Star buying over border or over seas? I live in Canada and it was mentioned that they are Canadian Buyer Friendly.
-
Pro-Star is one of the big Clevo three importers.
They should be fine to order from.
Although you should check with Eurocom first since you're in Canada... just make sure to contact them to negotiate the prices (in CAD) with the vendors that are in the US for the same systems. -
Ya its just that it was cheaper to buy from Pro-Star than Eurocom.
-
Eurocom price matches US vendors, just contact them.
