Laptop just came in yesterday. This is my first laptop. I really haven't a clue about this Wifi and Bluetooth things. Question. Does this laptop, as received, have the capabilities to connect to the internet or do I still need something extra?
I'm starting to see USB modems and something for the Express slot but I really haven't a clue what to do just yet.

    :D

Do you have a wireless router? Who is your internet service provider?

In the bottom right corner, you should see an icon with 2 monitors, right click, click connect to a network, are any wireless networks are available?

It's really simple, Wifi is your network adapter, Bluetooth is for connecting to devices (like a printer).

Those are just ports for all kinds of devices, and you probably won't use them, most people don't.

The USB ones, and Ethernet one you should definitely be aware of, have a look at your manual ;)

I haven't turned the computer on yet. I figured it was shipped for about a week in this weather. (Cleveland has been in the teens for a while.) So I'm giving it a day to get aclimated to the house air/temp/humidity. I know my sons Karate School can pick up wireless, his instructor does it. So I'll try there when I'm more comfortable using it.

your wireless switch is on the left side of the laptop next to the caps lock and tab key. when it is going towards you, it is on and the light will be a blueish purple. as long as you have wireless (or someone around you does) you can connect
