Hello,
I have updated two Intel drivers (as suggested by Obsidian PC-Tools) and I don't know if either one caused this issue but after restart the trackpad is not functioning anymore.
I have updated the Intel Chipset driver to 10.2.86 and the Intel ME driver to 11.7.0.1014
I have the touchpad's latest driver (19.3.4.66) - already installed prior to the update of the other drivers.
How can I solve this?

Hi John,
How do I re-install the touchpad? I have tried to re-install the last driver update but PC Tools remain forever on the spinning wheel. -
-
How do I de-install???
-
OK. I found how to de-install. Then it was automatically reinstalled by Windows after reboot. The strange thing is that PC Tools doesn't identify the current version of the driver. So I don't know if I should update or not.

However, now the trackpad is not multitouch anymore. Where do I find the right control panel in Windows 10 to restore the multitouch features?

On some websites, Windows 10 captions show there's a specific section for the touchpad in settings->peripherals, distinct from the mouse section. I think I had this before but after the issue described in this topic, there's no separate section anymore but a common shared by the mouse and the touchpad; without multitouch settings for the trackpad. I think the trackpad is mistakenly identified as mono-touch. How do I solve this?

Basically uninstall using Add / Remove Programs section.
or Go into Safe Mode and then do it, just disconnect from the internet before you boot into Windows again. That will prevent it from downloading the driver.
That should hopefully fix things for you. The specific settings can be found in the synaptics control panel in the first tab of the Mouse Settings Window.
