I want to transfer data the fastest way possible from the Qosmio to the Sager. The Sager has a thunderbolt port. The Qosmio does not but both have ethernet ports. I don't want to use wireless connection to transfer files. Is there a cord that will let me put it into the ethernet port on one end and connect it to the thunderbolt port at the other end and have one of the laptops act as an external device? Macs can do something like that by holding T at startup (external drive mode). Is it possible, is it the fastest way, and will I need a 3rd party program to have this work?

Ethernet to ethernet since the slowest port will always limit the speed.

How can I do ethernet to ethernet but be able to view as if the qosmio is an external storage device on the Sager? Specific program? Does the TB software on the Sager allow you to view it that way?

Would just taking the hdd out of one and putting it into the other (then dragging and dropping) be faster than both of the above?

Yes it would since SATA to SATA xfer is the fastest interface the drives will support.
