Does anyone have any ideea how can i Trim the 128 gb samsung 470 series SSD ?
I have it for more than one year and a half, and i never trimmed it because i never knew how.

Does the SSD get automatically trimmed when it is formatted ?

Does anyone know if there is an application or something that trimmes the drive ?
Something easy like a trim button ?

    What OS are you running?

Windows 7 has it built-in, provided your SATA controller is properly set to AHCI mode.

You can check from an admin command prompt with:
    fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify

If it returns 0, TRIM works.

This would probably be better suited for the SSD Section of the Harware forum..

    Good response though Darkshado

Thanks, it wasn't enabled, btw i learned of a samsung magician software, has inside all the options one will ever need to tweak the ssd.
Was thinking of getting a bigger capacity one, perhaps a 512 gb ocz octane, wich would be about 70 eur cheaper than a samsung 830 series. But now that i saw the sofware, i am inclined to chosse samsung over ocz.

They make good drives, but they should make a good sofwtware too. The easiness one can use a sofware to manage ssd will gain more clients for sure. THey should do that, esspeialy since because they offer so many ssds, that would be a great ideea.

Sorry didnt knew there was such thing
