Anybody here tried to make a triple head using a Clevo Laptop?
Using the laptop screen as the middle screen, and 2 external monitors
Is that even possible? Since it has only 1 hdmi output

I've tried dual head and it works flawlessly but dual head suck for 99% of the games,

my TV doesn't have a VGA or DVI port so I can't try using the DVI output for a 2nd external monitor

    Would be something like this

    [External Monitor 1] <-HDMI-> [Clevo Laptop] <-DVI-> [ External Monitor 2]

Any ideas? Should I buy a HDMI splitter ? would it recognize triple screens?

I believe you should be able to run dual monitors but not the way you are thinking. HDMI and DVI are generally tied together so you can use one but not the other. The higher end Clevo laptops (you never did mention your model and specs) should also have a display port though so this should allow for the additional monitor.

I recommend using Matrox Triple header-to-go, it is a clean solution for what you are trying to do. Since no laptop I am aware of supports true Eyefinity or NVSurround.

Check out WSGF for info on the matrox, that site is dedicated to the multi-monitor gamer, there is a whole forum dedicated to the technology.

My laptop is a P150HM w/ HD6990M, if the DVI is tied together with the HDMI, that's not good news

I've heard about it but it can be pretty expensive.

With my HD6990M I could connect my laptop to my TV with HDMI and the option to create an Eyefinity panel appeared in the CCC, and it worked perfectly, I could play plenty of games with expanded side views

But dual monitor sucks because everything that's important stays in the middle of the screen, where I can't see anything.

But thanks for the suggestion though

    Check this out:

That's the XMG P722 (P370EM) with MS Paint on Triple Monitors.
Please don't mind the mess on the desks. This is just a quick proof on concept done in our maniac room...

    1 Internal Screen + 1 HDMI Screen + 1 DisplayPort Screen

    This is how it's done:

    (work's even with SLI deactivated)

This works because you essentially have 3 Video Cards. Whether SLI is enabled or not you can use your monitors. This will not work on a single card system however, unless you use a Display Port.

That's pretty awesome, did you try to use the DVI port instead of the DisplayPort ? Damn P150HM doesn't have a DP ;( I really wanted to try triple head without using the Matrox TH2GO

The P370EM does not have a DVI port. It has only 1x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort.

actually if you have an hm series machine p150hm/p170hm, you can display two outputs and the internal screen if you have installed a 680m or possibly a 660m. the reason it works is because nvidia cards now support up to 4 monitors, but since the new em models have optimus this feature is not available. but since the hm series didnt have optimus it works with up to 3 monitors total. the reason amd eyefinity doesnt work though is because it requires display ports.

Can you actually use them as separate displays, (AKA Extended desktops) or is it a stretched resolution? (AKA 5760 X 1080)

i believe so, but you would need to ask someone to try it. i know for a fact that the latest dell presicsion can output four displays, using the k5000m, which is exactly the same as a 680m just flashed with a different bios. and the dvi and hdmi are not linked, ive used two external displays to display seperate screens.
