Hey gang. Before I create a ticket with MALIBAL, I wanted to see if anyone else has ideas.

    My predicament:
Wireless connection hangs after approximately thirty minutes of use. This happens under Windows 7 Enterprise as well as Ubuntu 11.04. The connection is established and network manager shoes that I am connected, but I cannot get any data from the Internet. This was particularly frustrating last night when I wasn't home and was doing some work with subversion. My upload of about 220mb was constantly disrupted at around 85%, so I have to restart.

What fixes the issue temporarily: If I disconnect then reconnect, the connection seems to work again.

Anyone have any thoughts? Is this an issue with the Killer cards or is software related? Like I said though, this happens to me in Ubuntu and Windows. I've done some research but not much has come of it.

Another thing I notice. When connected with the Ethernet, I get constant toast notifications regarding my WiFi being dropped then reconnected. This happens about every ten minutes.

    Thank you in advance :)

I have an ASUS (RT-N56U) Wireless router connected to my comcast modem, & I had connectivity issues. I bought the best wireless router & couldn't understand what was going on. My computer would say I had limited access to the network, & sometimes I would restart my laptop & it worked for a little bit. I was not using a Bigfoot like you were, but what the problem was my modem from Comcast. I bought my own Motorola modem (an upgrade, not the one they supply) & have not had the problem since.
I don't know what setup you have, but you may want to test the reliability of your signal from your modem...

Thanks for your replay. I have this issue from Home as well as from the University. At home I use a Motorola SB6120 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 so that isn't the issue I hope. And I'm sure whatever setup they have at school it's not their fault. lol. But thanks for your suggestions. :)

I have a Cisco e4200, and I don't have this problem at all with the bigfoot 1103 drivers installed. It COULD be the router to card connection, although you'd need another reliable router to test that. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the bigfoot driver? Also you could try unplugging your home modem and router then plug in the modem after 20 seconds and the router 20 seconds after that.

It sounds like a software problem. Have you simply tried uninstalling/reinstalling the killer software first? That's the easiest thing to try right off the bat.

Yeah I've uninstalled then reinstalled the software also. Still same issue. I took my car to the shop and they had wifi and I tested there also. Same thing, after about thirty minutes my connection was still established but no data transfer. It's weird. So that's three places so far (Home, Honda dealership, and University).

Also weird is that the same issue happens in Ubuntu (which I use most of the time). The Atheros is supported out of the box without additional drivers. And I perused the bigfoot driver site but now software for Linux is available.

Fortunately, I am around an ethernet port most of the time. It's just a little disappointing that the upgraded card has been such a hassle. But, while in Windows, I have noticed a difference in speed compared to my old laptop which used Intel card and Broadcom card at different times. I just wished it kept its connection!
