Just got my Sager 8170 from XoticPC. Nice laptop except for the keyboard, which kinda sucks. (More on that in a review when I get my pixel issue resolved.)

Anyway... while running a test for dead/stuck pixels, I found one on the center right side of the screen. It's a single pixel that shows up white on a black or blue screen. It doesn't show up on white, green, or red screens. I understand that it's a "stuck" and not a "dead" pixel.

Fortunately, I did purchase the Sager "zero dead pixel" 30-day option for $75. They'll consider the unit DOA and replace it and cover the shipping both ways within 30 days of receiving the laptop.

My question: Should I try to "fix" the stuck pixel with something like JScreenFix, or is it best to just send the laptop back for replacement?

Sending it back will mean waiting (obviously) for a replacement, which sucks. But, I'm willing to do it if the screen will be PERFECT when I get it back. I assume if I get it back and there is another dead pixel, I can send it back again, right?

why try to fix something when you paid $75 so you didn't have to try?

I'd try to fix it myself first, but that's because I hate having something then having it stripped away from me and having to wait for it again :(

I massaged a stuck pixel out of my D900F back in the day, if you want to keep it its worth a try.
