    Hi everyone.

My Dell recently melted down and I can't say I'm particulaly sorry to see it go. With the approaching release of Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 (probably in about 10 years), I'd like to get myself a semi-futureproof lappy with a good warranty.
I live in Japan, and buying a notebook is SO weird and difficult here. Moist laptops are aimed at business or lifestyle markets, with little space for games. That said, I checked out the Clevo guide and went to www.pc-koubou.jp
The've got Sagers or Clevos (not sure which) for sale under the Lesance brand (weird name).
I'm stuck at work, which for some reason blocks google translate and other translation sites.
Basically I have no up-to-date knowledge of the various graphics cards that are available right now. It just looks like Nvidia is spewing out as many cards as possibly to confuse the hell out of people.
Can anyone give me some advice on what to get from koubou? I'd prefer one of the 15-inchers as I only have about $2K to spend, but the one they have up there comes with a geforce 9300 M 256mb, which sounds lame. Do you know if these systems are adjustable or if the graphics card is soldered in there?

Any advice would be great. I'm even open to ordering from an american site, getting it shipped to a friend in the US and having her ship it onwards to me as a gift so I don't have to pay ridiculous taxes. Also, XoticPC's $249 international shipping charge seems a little steep.

    Any thoughts?

    Growr.

The Japanese Clevo vendors re-brands the systems to whichever brand they want.

They will have their systems hopefully updated within a week.

Sweet. That's what I thought might happen. I might give em a call and find out what their plans are. Right now my other possible option is:
    Gateway m-6842j
    2.1GHz
    15.4"
    250/5400 HDD
    ATI HD2600 (512MB)
    3GB RAM
    135 000yen (about $1290)
    5 year warranty

You reckon the bang for buck is going to get much better with the new releases?
