I'm ordering a Sager NP2090 and am wondering will I notice a difference if I order 1GB of Intel Robson Turbo Memory. I'm ordering with the T7500 processor, and 2GB of ram to begin with. I plan on running Windows Vista Home Premium and dual booting it with Windows XP Pro. I know it won't help XP but will it provide a difference in Vista, and if so how much of an increase?

    Thanks

I haven't looked into the Turbo Memory but I think you will only notice a difference if you have less then 2 gigs of RAM. I have also heard that some users have experienced BSOD with the Turbo Memory.

That covers it right there. Even if perhaps they are rumors I would still rather be safe than sorry in any incident involving a BSOD.

Oh just another quote to start you off with your decision...

''Is 1 gig of RAM+Turbo Memory better then 2 gigs of RAM?''

My answer: Readyboost, Turbo Memory, etc...won't replace a whole gig of RAM...

Turbo memory is just dedicated readyboost memory from what I have read. The recommendation with turbo boost is to have a 2 to 1 ready boost to memory setup to see a leap in performance in a 2 gig RAM system. So if you have 2 gig RAM, then you need 4 gig turbo memory. The ratio turns to 1 to 1 in a 1 gig system and below.

A lot of laptop retailers, like HP and Dell will not carry Turbo Boost mostly because it a scam and a marketing scheme.

It can be useful however if you have 1 gig or less on your laptop and the upgrade is usually only 40 to 50 bucks, much cheaper than a gig of RAM upgrade usually.

In your case I am sorry to say that it won't do much for you.
