Hey guys, im wondering if there is a way to turn off my charger on my laptop like so much battery doesn't get recharged because im usually plugged in at home.. and i like to go from my desk to bed or go to another place in the house so I would like to keep the battery. But I am harming by always being plugged in so my question is there a way to turn something off so it doesnt charge unless I turn it on?

    2nd question.
When I am on battery is there way turn off the powermizzer so I can be on the battery more then being plugged into to do anything media related?. On xp instructions appreciated.

wouldnt physically popping the battery in and out be as much work as enabling/disabling a charge? (assuming there is a way...)

    1. If you're usually plugged in, I would recommend taking the batteries out. If you are not going to use the batteries for a while, you should leave it at 40-60% charge for storage, assuming that your battery is Li-ion.

    2. There is an app dubbed powermizer switch, which I found to be very handy. You can get it here: http://www.box.net/shared/qieikpcg8g
It enables you to disable/enable powermizer on batteries or while plugged in. I wouldn't recommend disabling it on battery mode though, as your GPU will eat your batteries up.

    hope this helps

After 10 years in the Cellphone industry and watching every new type of battery claim to have no memory and then finding out they do (including lithiom-polymer) I would just take the battery out if your plugged into the same spot 75% of the time.
